Social Networking in the Crafting World

By
Industry Observer

First off, I am not really a crafter.

But many long time Active Rainers may remember that some time ago, I promised a friend, Lilian, that I would help her start selling some of her handmade jewelry items on item.

That little project has been, and continues to be, a remarkable learning experience.

I've learned some simple product photography techniques.  I've learned about online marketplaces for arts and crafts such as http://www.etsy.com, http://www.shophandmade.com  and http://www.artfire.com

Now I have found a social network for crafters http://www.mycraft.com  (with a layout very similar to MySpace.)

You can set up a blog, join groups, and interact with other craftpeople, just like you interact with other real estate people here on Active Rain.

At the moment, there are less than 400 members on http://www.MyCraft.com

If you have an interest in handcrafts and art,  stop in and check it out.
