I always enjoy discovering a new dining experience. I state "experience" because although the food would be at the top of the list, that's not the only criteria to judge good dining. The atmosphere, the service, and of course - price are all factors to consider.

One of my favorite restaurants that I have discovered in southern West Virginia is in Historic Downtown Lewisburg. It is a place called Food & Friends. It's a great place to dine. Not only is the restaurant great, but it's nestled in a quaint little town with nice shops to visit while you're there. It's a taste of heaven. Check it out: http://foodandfriendswv.com

I wonder if there is a website, consumer driven, where you can list these places for folks coming from out of town for just a night or two. I'm leaving tomorrow on a trip, and I'd love to be able to eat at a few nice places only the locals know about...

Josh - I'm not aware of such a site, but it sounds like a great idea. I know when we travel, we most always try to ask the locals for their recommendations (if we are going to be in the area a few days & have the time).We actually did that when we travelled to Maine & we were not disappointed.
