Brrrrr... I'm getting cold just looking at this one. Glad I'm not a bird.
Rich, that looks exactly like my birdbath in my backyard! as Maxine said Brrrrrr...
Renee - No turtles were harmed in the making of this winter scene.
Julie - Yep it is from earlier in the week! Was gone by noon.
Maxine - It was quite cold, warmed up a little, and today the wind is biting.
Mary - Is yours covered with snow too?!?
Rich... Yep this is how our "bird sanctuary" looked this morning.... no birds drinking here, that spot in the bird bath is a little flat rock. I put there so the little birdies don't have to get their birdie feet wet, LOL. Have a nice day...
Glad to say we don't have any snow here yet. The highs have been near fifty. Chilly in the evening. After last year I am glad to see winter arrive later and hopefully not be so long. We had quite a snowy year last year.
Mary - That looks like some beautiful country but cold too! The rock sounds like a good idea, not frozen feet!
Julie - I definitely remember you talking about how cold and snowy it was for you last year.
That's got to be the biggest margarita glass I've ever seen. However, I don't like salt on the rim.
Rich,
And this would be a ice skating or hockey rink for birds to use? :)
Steve
Russel - No, no, no...that is sugar!
Steve - Bingo! They simply fly across the ice!
Trish -I am a warm weather person, though I try to appreciate the snow.
Barbara-Jo & Bill - Hahaha! Exactly!
Rich, Nice photo! I hope you filled it with some fresh water for your feathered friends!
Debra - The snow and ice were gone that same afternoon! I often find myself puring hot water into the birdbaths; they too will freeze but at least the birds can have a drink and bath beforehand if they want.
Rich, thanks...that made me feel better;-) It is so nice you put fresh water out for them. We just got about 8 inches of snow in CARY, IL, so I'll be putting a little something out there for them, too:-)
Debra - I also have three different bird feeders around the yard for them as well. My youngest niece made one of those pine cone feeder covered in peanut butter and birdseed for them too.
Rich, Nice wordless photo! Every year I wait for the snow because I love it, we don't get much here maybe just a day or two a year, if any. This year we spent Thanksgiving - Christmas on Maui. It was beautiful and I loved every minute of it.... meanwhile it snowed up a blizzard here for two weeks all while we were basking in the Maui sun! Haha!
Rich, that is good you take such great care of your feathered friends and are teaching your niece to do so, also:-)
JoLynn - The sun, the surf, and the warmth...what could be better???
Debra - In my eyes, conservatorship is everyones' responsibility.
