Google add words???

By
Real Estate Agent with Remax Beaches

I get these calls from people telling me that for $200 now and then $80 a month they will sell me a phrase that will come up when people search google and yahoo 80% of the time. THey garantee that I will be found, my web site that is. I made the mistake of saying yes, getting a $200 charge on my card, then decided it was just not really going to work, stopped the monthly fee. I was active for a month and got nothing, so when is it suppose to happen?

My question is: How many realtors are they calling and how many can come up?

Do any of you realtors out there sign up with these services and if so does it work for you? I would love to know if I missed the opportunity of a life time or was it just hype?

Save your money.  There are many ways that they can scam you with Google AdWords.  Fact is, there is nothing they can do for you that you can't do for yourself.  If once wants to do PPC, do PPC, but don't pay someone to do it for you.  The Google interface is easy.

No one can "guarantee" you anything on Google.

Jay,

There are some people out there that advocate ad words.  I would read up on them and decide if it will fit into your overall strategy.  When I search the web from a consumer perspective I'm much less inclined to click on sponsored links because I know someone paid to be there.  I like to find companies that got there organically because there is usually more content and it tends to be more relevant to what I'm searching for.

If you are interested in doing ad word campaigns I would shop for a deal.  There are not near as many dollars pouring into advertising right now as there have been.

Lenn is right.  If you want to pay for Google Adwords, just open an account and do it yourself.  Many times you can find some real bargain keyword phrases.  I like trying to find words where I can be in one of the top three spots for about 20 cents per click.  So for $200, that would give you 1000 clicks.

I'd rather pay for each click than do a monthly flat fee for an unknown number of clicks.

There are tricks to maximize the Google Adwords campaigns but I think the time spent learning about this is time well spent.  It's knowledge that you can use selling anything on the Internet.  I consider it my back up career insurance.

Jay - I get around 2 to 3 calls like that a month. I tell them thanks but, I don't need their help. With Active Rain as long as you keep blogging and using good keywords you should get good placement.

There are strategies that you can employ that will gurantee a 1st page placement.  But that's the key here: strategy.

Time, patience and working with a professional will gain big rewards.  The key is working with someone you believe has your best interest in mind.
