Web 2.0...From A Dummies Viewpoint...!!!

This Web 2.0 thing...has it turned out to be bane or bust...??? Let's take a look!

First of all, if we turn to Entomology, the study of insects, for a minute, we will note that spiders eat bugs...that's their role in the food chain...

And, since according to Wikipedia, insects account for more than 2/3 of all organisms on Earth...it seems we can learn a lot from this analogy...

Next, WEBS assist spiders in catching bugs...it's their, the spider's, very passive way of gaining success and providing sustenance...the spider's 'ace in the whole' so to speak...

Web 2.0 is state of the art internet social networking at its best...

Question is...

Are we, the users of Web 2.0, the spiders or the flies...???

Flies. It is a novelty of fresh new content, and it may also be a fad. I have started workign on my webs again, and I am gettng some great SEO position becase I assume everyone else is neglecting first things first.

I say spiders.... Who is going to be the judge for this contest? LOL

I am really starting to catch on to the Social Networking phenomena. I think it is a very good thing.

An excellent question and a brilliant, creative way to depict it. We are hands down the spiders: weaving a story ike a spider weaves a web, drawing in clients like flies and getting very testy when the competition encroaches our territory.

I tend to agree with the last post. We are the spiders weaving the web. Just not many flies out there right now.

right now...I"m the fly....I want to be the spider, but how do you morph?

Fran - Is there such a terminalogy in Web 2.0 for flies? I think it is hands down "spiders". I'm slowly getting the hang of it.

Very interesting way of looking at things. I should hope we are the spiders, but if you look at the sidebar of any of these sites and notice the advertising there, you might thing we are just someone elses pray.
