5. Enjoy the scenery.  After biking up the tough hill, I'm out of breath, out of energy.  I made it but it was really difficult.  And there will be more hills to come.  Then I glance to the west.  The wide, blue Pacific sparkles in the sunshine.  A few seagulls soar against the backdrop of white puffy clouds.  A lone surfer waits patiently for that monstrous wave.  I take a long, deep breath and feel a new burst of energy -- a second wind.  What a gift -- a great day to be alive!  Today is God's day and there will be none other like it.  I realize I have a divine purpose in my life and am totally equipped to accomplish all my goals today.  The sun, the ocean, the birds, the flowers remind me that they "are".  My mom says I am too busy and preoccupied, that I should be a human "being" and not a human "doing".  And today I realize that I am "being" part of this phenomenal scene.

Life Lesson:  It's not all about arriving.  The fun of the trip is in the getting there.  And appreciating the hills after you've conquered them.  And recognizing the beauty around you and how you fit into God's plan for your life.  5, 10, or 20 years from now, when you look back, what will you remember?  What will you have enjoyed that will stay with you through the years?

SUMMARY OF THIS 5-part SUCCESS SERIES

Nothing builds success faster than success.  But how do you get success if you don't already have it?  It seems like a catch-22.  Sometimes you have to "get the ball rolling" by creating your own success!

But how do you start the "success" ball rolling?

  • Work hard to become an expert in your field.
  • Begin by posting blogs.  Each one is a mini-success.
  • Learn and gain experience.  Create good habits of writing.
  • Then use your success stories to write and submit articles to online sites.
  • Attend seminars and keep learning.
  • Next write a book about your experiences.
  • Market your book as a professional.
  • Teach seminars to others and gain more credibility.
  • And now with that success, publish your book.
  • Since you're a successful author, now you can sell your CDs.
  • And more folks will attend your events.
  • Which spurs even more success....

Each successful step fuels more success.  Success may be elusive but persevere.  Flex your muscles, it's the only way they'll grow stronger.

THANKS FOR TUNING IN!  HOPE YOU ENJOYED OUR BLOG MINI-SERIES.

Jeff, thank you for taking the time to read my blog!  I see you are in insurance, and I predict that market will have a HUGE upswing in the next 2-3 years (due to Obama's health care plans).

Julie, hopefully it's not raining or snowing in your area!  It's raining here on the coast of CA, which doesn't happen very often.
