Introspection on Thursday Morning.....Inspiration Courtesy of Twitter.

It's amazing how the lessons we learn at a young age can have a severe impact on how we function in life.  I Beat Your Own Drumam constantly amazed at how we are, for lack of a better word, brainwashed into self defeatist beliefs.

If I had to choose a "magical power" today, I wish I had a wand to wipe away everyone's memory of past mistakes so they could start each day fresh and realize the potential they have inside.

I don't have a magic wand, but I do have a blog.

You can choose your path....here in America....where your boundaries are only limited by your thoughts.

Do you know who you really are? You are a rockstar creating your own destiny IF- YOU choose your own tune.

Dance to your own drummer.

And find drummers whose tune makes you feel like jammin' ....

  • What are you reading?
  • What you are you listening to?
  • What are you doing?
  • Where are you marching?
  • What tune are you singing?
  • What do YOU attract into your experience?

I woke up grateful to get started on the day, working as an entrepreuner and controlling my family's destiny by my attitude and actions.

THAT IS FREEDOM.

I opened up my laptop and logged into Twitter. This is what I saw,

AlexKaris

AlexKaris When you cease believing in beliefs...You are FREE!

My eyes headed straight for the good stuff, first thing this morning, thank you @AlexKaris

Every morning you wake up and YOU choose....

  • What you are reading?
  • What you are listening to?
  • What you are doing?
  • Where you are marching?
  • What tune you are singing?
  • What YOU attract into your experience?

It IS that simple.  Why do impoverished Orphans in HAITI SMILE and SEEK JOY?

See what you don't like and notice how you feel.  Then run toward what you do want and become laser FOCUSED on it.

C'mon and beat your own drum...fulfill your desired destiny....lemme step back so you can go ahead and do your own thang.

Let's Jam.  We can go ANYWHERE.

Rebecca- You are so right! Have you ever heard of Ninja Selling? I've taken that course more times than I can remember. The course boils down to "if you believe it, it WILL happen". Positive affirmations. It has been my magic wand for about 6 years now. Larry Kendall from the Group, Inc. in Ft. Collins Colorado started the Ninja Selling. Amazing man, amazing company! Amazing post girl! Found it on Twitter;) I'm lurking there, lol

Rebecca, what a great post! I am grateful for everyday and I start each day saying out loud what and who I am grateful for and found it completely changes my outlook, approach and the things that happen in my day for the better. Thanks for the inspiration and gentle reminder to us all to be mindful of these things. ~Anne Marie

I'd like to say that I wake up each day and say a little something to myself.  Truth is, I have an internal thought to just do the best I can and be positive.  No catchy sayings or pep talk in the morning, just an internal thought to be 'who I am' and try to remain positive no matter what the situation.  I'd have to say that I am pretty positive most of the time without 'forcing' it.  I work with great people and love what I do.... that helps.

Good positive thoughts, although, I do think balance is important. You know...some days just stink. Unfortunately, I am not quite at the maturity level to "consider it pure joy when you face trials of many kinds...." But working on it.

Elizabeth- I've never taken that course but that is how I've always sold.  It's funny a month ago I wrote a post and someone asked me if I had read Gary Keller's The Shift.  I hadn't.  You know, you just sometimes think, believe act certain ways.  Sounds like a good program to me.

Anne Marie-  Thank you and I am glad that you chose to remind yourself what you are grateful for, it is a powerful way to begin a day.

John-Thats great.  I am a positive person and I also know that being human I get curious about things that don't always serve me (like looking at unemployment numbers or following the DOW) so I DO have to give myself reminders of what is important to stay focused and on track.

Kevin- I think some moments just stink and when we dwell on them the whole day can stink.  I have just found that to be true and have learned a way that I can turn the day around so I don't let it bottom out on me.

Rebecca, life is all about choices, garbage in then you have garbage out.  I try to be very careful what my mind sees.

As far as Twitter goes I guess I'm not connected to enough people on twitter.  At this point all I feel like is that I'm intruding on someone's private conversation.

Rebecca,

I saw a newborn baby in a refugee camp once.

(you can't tweet that...but I think it fits here.)

Thanks,

Steve

Feeling a little frustrated and searching ActiveRain for inspiration today. Glad I visited; Not only did I get a good dose of inspiration, I got an opportunity to enjoy some great music, too.  Thanks for sharing.

We do seem to choose our own destinies, don't we? Sometimes I do believe it is good to let yourself just fell lousey, but not feel self-pity! It is good to feel  "it" and then move on!

Some of my fellow Twits can really pack a lot of positivity into 140 characters ... and sometimes that's all it takes to keep us headed in the right direction!

Steve- That must have been a very human experience.  My heart reaches out to anything involving children.

Terrie- Feel it and move on is right Terrie.  To wallow is to leave yourself powerless.

John- Isn't that great?  The stream of consciousness that can exist in micro blogging can really be empowering.
