Moving is the most stressful part of selling your home.  Here are some tips to make it easier.  Please comment on ways you made your move easier.

1. Give your forwarding address to the post office two weeks before you move.

2. Plan your move early.  Have a garage sale for items you no longer want.  Start packing and labeling boxes.  Label the box with important papers.

3. For an easier transition to your new home, consider the layout and the decor of your new rooms.

4. Inquire about connecting utilities at your new home.  A deposit requirement may delay new service.

5. Notify your bank, creditors, and magazines of your new address.

6. Let your friends, relatives and business colleagues know your new address and phone number.

7. Cancel or transfer newspaper delivery.

8. Check your insurance policy for coverage on moving items.

9. Disconnect utilities at your old home after you move.  Be sure to inquire about any deposits you may have given to the utilities.

a side note to the utilities - if the buyer notifies them prior to the move date often times they can save a connection fee -
