Remember the game where a blindfolded person would walk around a room, looking for an unidentified object, and those in the room would direct them with "You are getting warmer", or "You are getting colder"? Well, we in the industry, need to send the message to our elected representatives, that the MUST prioritize the Housing Market. The rest of the economy cannot, and will not heal without Housing playing a major role in the recovery.
Show me 4.5% 30 year fixed mortgages, (that good clients can qualify for), and I'll show you a market that will stabilize and begin its recovery. Unemployment will stabilize. Consumer Confidence will rebound.
St George Utah is an area that will really benefit from an uptick in Consumer Confidence. We have so many buyers "fence sitting" and watching for the bottom. This group will speed the recovery when they determine that the Purchase Price and Interest rate combination COMPEL them to get off the fence and Act.
I am excited to see that day, and I believe that it will be sooner rather than later.
