For the past month I have heard rumors of Google rolling out a new algorithm for search engine optimization (SEO).  It is confirmed.  The major change is stickyness, how long are people staying on you site, and what do they do on the site.  There is a good chance google will compare your surfing habits of the past to the site you are visiting.

So make your sites sticky, it doesn't sound like a lot but there are a lot more changes than this, however they all revolve around the idea of people finding your site informational.  Have content that people want to see and will stay on your site for longer than 30 seconds.

There are plenty of companies that will start advertising that they already know what the criteria is and that they can get you to the top.

My very close friend in Yahoo, will tell you that it is all lies.  At this moment only Google know's and if they are anything like the last time they made a change to their algorithm no one will know for sure ever...

I will post more if i get more intel

thanks for following

David, if it is one thing that I have learned about google it is the fact that you can get a headache trying to figure out how it works. I will be happy when people just get back to blogging and forget all the rest. in the end, good content will override it all.

I think that's one reason why Google loves ActiveRain. There is so much fresh and useful content here being rolled out daily by 125,000 people.

That's also one reason why I don't play the SEO game. I use my web presence as support in my more traditional marketing methods.

Hi David,

Interesting blog once again, although 30 seconds doesn't seem to be a long time it is interesting how quickly people will leave your site if they do not find valuable information.  Please keep me updated if you get more intel.  Thanks again,
