It's amazing how much work can build up when you leave for two out of three weeks, especially when one is unexpected.
For months we planned to go to Pennsylvania for my brother-in-law's wedding.
We dreaded the potential complications of traveling with our 11 month old, Dylan and knew 5 year old David would be a trooper, veteran traveller that he is.
We spent 6 days in Pennsylvania, and while we were headed to Pennsylvania, my sister's twins arrived in Texas.
While on the East Coast, we attended Tim and Katie's wedding, I visited NYC with my sister-in-law,
and we rode 4 wheelers on my in-laws' farm.
We came home and attempted to catch up on everything that had built up while we were gone.
Then, my sister decided we should head for Texas for Thanksgiving. After all, it's harder for her to travel with newborn twins than for us to drive to El Paso spur of the moment.
My parents were already there, and she assured us that we should definitely be part of the twins first Thanksgiving. My husband was game, and so, we packed up the kids and drove 14 hours to El Paso. There are beautiful areas between here and there.
It was wonderful to see my sister, meet Lexi and Logan and get to share my sister's joy at the safe arrival of her twins.
Though it's been a lot of fun to travel the country and great to see family and meet the new additions, we're really appreciating being home, just in time for Dylan's first birthday and Christmas.
Have you had any whirlwind adventures that just came at you one after another?
Stay tuned for updates on the twins.
