WHAT I LIKE ABOUT MY BLACKBERRY:
- I get my emails on my Blackberry faster than on my computer! (although I cannot view documents attached.)
- I can respond to emails quickly while out and about (without accessing a computer).
- All my appointments from my calendar are on my Blackberry -- it pops up with reminders of each appointment! So I never miss appointments.
- It lets me view my calendar and enter appointments when I'm scheduling meetings with clients, and I can easily figure out my schedule at any time (without my planner or computer)
- Contact info (name, phone, email) gets synced between my computer and my Blackberry, so each back-up the other, and both have current info at all times.
- I can write text messages and emails much quicker (and with less frustration) with a larger keyboard (more letters than a traditional phone).
- You can access the web on your Blackberry -- although I have turned off this feature, it costs more $$ and I didn't use it often (and it was slow when I did).
One warning: Since you are syncing your entire Outlook address book with your Blackberry, it means that anyone who gets a hold of your cell phone (if it's lost or stolen) will have access to your contacts' home addresses. Therefore, I do NOT put addresses into Outlook. Instead, I use a seprate database to keep track of my clients and prospects so I don't put all their personal information at risk. I use Outlook only for frequently used phone #s and email addresses.
And YES your monthly phone service may be more expensive with a Blackberry, but WORTH it (and tax-deductable business expense). But with this T-Mobile special, you get a 12% reduction on your monthly bill, so that helps a little bit. Here's my monthly charges:
- NW1500 Nts/Wkds $59.99
- BB Unl Email $9.99
- Msg Value Bundle 400 $4.99
Total $74.97 per month, minus my Realtor discount of $9, equals $69.61 per month. Not bad for a mobile office, eh!
