Messy Desk

How can people find there papers when they can't see there desk? I have organized files, drawers, shelves, and drawers. I know where evrything is because it has a place. How do you find what you need in a hurry if nothing has a place or does it not matter?

If you have a messy desk or office let me know how you find your stuff?

We're moving offices so I have nothing on mine right now.

My desk is messy so I can find stuff.

So the mess keeps you organized, interesting.

I'm not sure how I do it, but I can reach into a drawer of unfiled material, and put my hand on the paper I'm looking for. How does that work??? I'm struggling for the empty desk surface, though.
