Everyone is busy with the holidays but your business plan needs to be formulated now. Business doesn't just happen, it needs to be planned. Have you got your plan in place or still thinking about it? If you haven't started then try these 5 easy steps:
1. Steven Covey says start with the end in mind. This makes sense, pretend its December 2009:
a. How much income do you want to make in 2009?
b. How many transactions will that take?
c. How many more or less is that than I did in 2008?
2. What am I going to do different in 2009?
a. Create new prospecting ideas
b. Create or improve a newsletter, paper or electronic
c. Reserve time to make contact with your past clients
d. Increase your understanding and usage of the internet
e. Schedule educational classes to improve your level of service or increase production level
3. Who will help me achieve my goals?
Do you need an assistant? Do you need to outsource your work? You are not an expert in marketing & web mastering and can't do it all. Do you need a networking group?
4. When am I going to complete all these tasks?
Develop a time line of specific dates to achieve your tasks. Dates must be realistic and acheivable.
5. Visualize achieving my plan!
a. Set daily goals
b. Make a goal board
c. Say your affirmations daily
d. Wake up each morning and think about how great is to be in real estate and of the people you are going to help today.
Many experts feel we spend more time planning a vacation than we do for planning our business for the coming year. Try this year to make some time and answer these 5 questions. You will be surprised how it will help you have clarity and activate your thinking process. Best wishes for a prosperous 2009!
