In this market, I am often asked if buying a foreclosure is the best route. Since I have personally bought foreclosures and rehab properties, I intimately know the challenges one faces after closing. The inspector can only tell you what he sees. Once you start tearing the place apart, even more issues can arise costing you more money and time in the rehabbing process. Real estate that has been neglected usually comes with a heap of problems, which are costly.
