Buyer Beware: Fixer and Foreclosure Tips

By
Real Estate Broker/Owner with Local Expert Realty

In this market, I am often asked if buying a foreclosure is the best route.  Since I have personally bought foreclosures and rehab properties, I intimately know the challenges one faces after closing.  The inspector can only tell you what he sees.  Once you start tearing the place apart, even more issues can arise costing you more money and time in the rehabbing process.  Real estate that has been neglected usually comes with a heap of problems, which are costly.  At the same time, I am not one to sway anyone from buying a good piece of real estate at a fantastic price.  With that said, I would highly recommend proceeding with caution.  There are a lot of foreclosure properties in Reston and the surrounding areas that offer excellent values but there are also properties that aren't foreclosures and just need updating that also provide a good opportunity.  If you are interested in dipping your toe in the foreclosure market in Reston, you can get a FREE list with pictures of All Foreclosures and Distress Sales at http://www.RestonForeclosureSales.com or give me a call to see if buying a Reston foreclosure is right for you.  Call me at 571-337-2609
