My Christmas Meme - What to Ask For??

By
Real Estate Agent with RE/MAX Shoreline - NH and Maine NH and Maine Broker

We can all tell it's "Meme" time around here!  This is the 3rd time I've been tagged for different memes within the last week or so.  Each of them were different, asking me to do something different - friendship ball, books, and now this one - a gift.

Snowy Lamp

This time around for this Christmas meme, I was tagged by the lovely Linda Scanlan of "A Consumer's View".   Guess what Linda wants??  She wants SNOW!  Can you believe that?!!!  Well, several of us from New England have offered to ship her all that we get this year....get ready Linda!!

So, back to this particular meme.....  here are the rules for what we need to do on this one:

"Now for a little surprise--I want you to name one gift you would like to have on Christmas. It has to be an object. We all want happiness for Christmas. If you could pick one single gift out for yourself-what would it be? Remember-it has to be something you can touch and hold.... Once you have done this, name five people or more and send this to them for them to name the one special gift they would like to have.

This gift cannot be money either."

It has taken me until today to come up with an 'object' that I wanted.  I really don't want anything that would be considered an object.  But, in yesterday's mail came something I had forgotten I ordered, and when it arrived, I knew instantly what I could ask for in this meme........
a silver chain,  either 18 or 20 inches long.

Bear, my honey of 17 years loved kaliedoscopes, and we have several kaleidoscopes that are real pieces of art, signed by the artist who created them.  Bear enjoyed them so much, and we took several trips to Stowe Vermont for their annual Kaleidoscope Festivals.  We collected them together, and every time I see one, I always think of him and his love of them.

Christmas Gifts

Anyway, I was flipping through one of the many catalogs that keep being delivered this season, and I found this beautiful pewter miniature kaleidoscope pendant.  It's about an inch long and is beautiful and has Swarovski crystals on the outside of it, and it is a real kaleidoscope, too.  I ordered that because of Bear and his love of them.

It arrived and now I would love to have a silver chain so I can wear it in his honor.

So that's my wish with this Christmas meme, and now I get to tag 5 people.  Those 5 are:

Hi George - it is a special wish, and not something I would ordinarily ask for, but this year, that's my wish.

Hey Monika - he loved those kaleidescopes.  When we'd be somewhere where they had those really beautiful ones, he'd be like a kid in a candy store, and he always held them with such awe when he'd look at them.  He'd spend as much time as he could talking to the artists when we went to those fairs in Vermont.  I thought it was cool when I found this pendant...

That picture would make a great Christmas card!  Hmmm, maybe I'll paint it. I also love kaliedoscopes, not that I have any, but I always check them out when I see them. I agree with all the above that you will probably be swamped with silver chains after this:)  And you will get through this Christmas because you know that Bear would want you to be happy. Happy Holidays, Ann

Hi Kristal - I saw this pendant, and knew instantly I had to have it, and if Bear were here, I'm sure he would have bought it for me himself.  I do hope I get a silver chain so I can wear it - it's so pretty!

Hi April - thank you!

Hi Karen - isn't that picture beautiful?  Do paint it!  I have always so loved Christmas - not for the presents we get but because it meant spending such great time with my family and my Bear.  We have struggled to get through Christmas each of the last 3 since my mom's been gone because Christmas Day is her birthday.  And now with Bear being gone too, well I have been trying hard to just not think about Christmas, but sometimes I can't help it, and there it is.....

Thanks for such nice comments - I so appreciate them!

Hi James - yep, I love that part, too!  Hope you get lots!

Hi Deb - thank you, and I'm looking forward to being able to wear it and know it's so close to me.

Hey Kay - thanks so much for those really nice words!  I have been out a good deal over the last few months, and have been trying to work back in.  Losing Bear this summer just devastated me, and I am still having very hard days at times.  Thanks for your comment - I really appreciate it!

And when I get my chain, you can bet I'll surely be wearing it with loads of love!

Ann- I am not surprised that you didn't want anything material except for something to compliment a sentimental object.  Can you take a picture of the new necklace when you get that new chain :)  Ann, Merry Christmas and I do hope all your dreams come true.....

I will write my meme I swear :)
