Cathy, nothing can beat "professional" staging.

Unfortunately, I think this happens too often Cathy.  Your photos illustrate the importance of bringing in a professional.  Great work and relevant post.

Cathy, This was unfortunate for the sellers. Your work proves what a professional is. Great work, great photos.

Cathy ~ that "realtor staging" is pathetic!  No wonder there was no interest in the home.  Your staging, however, illustrates perfectly the concept of "professional stager."    This week I met several realtors who told me that they "usually stage their own listings."  I later checked their website listing photos ... they are doing such a disservice to their sellers.  We just have to keep educating the public about the difference!

Cathy, there are alot of misconceptions about real estate staging. Your post is exceptional example of what true, professional staging is all about. Fabulous work, fabulous post :]

Cathy Lee,

Great job as usual. Your post is right on the money. What a difference the listing could have been if only the original agent had seen the value of "true' professional home staging. Education, Education, Education...not only for the homeowners but for the agents who believe a palm tree and a folding table is staging.

Thanks for your continued excellence in professional staging as well as your words of wisdom for the rest of our staging community.

HI There Staging Ladies Kathleen, Maureen, Ronelle and.... Suzette, my fellow SOS.  We should stop saying "knowledge is power" and start saying "get educated and be powerfully successful".  We might get more attention...What do you think????

Cathy:
Thanks for the laugh this morning!  Free Staging... then the pics.  Oh, man!  It's awesome.

Your point is excellent:  4 months - 50 showings, and still unsold.  You get what you pay for!

It looks like the free staging style may have been learned from those guys on cable, who are a bunch of fraternity guys running around New England doing flips... The head of the group is named Thad, or some thing like that... The woman who hosts the open houses thinks Staging is putting a soap dish in the bathroom and a salad bowl in the kitchen.  Y'all know the show...

Free staging by a Realtor.

Well all I can say is that they got what they paid for.

Great Job, as usual, on your staging.

Cathy, You did a fabulous job as usual.  I know people don't want to invest the money in staging but they'll take reductions and have it sit on the market....these pictures say it all.

Wow -- those before pics are hideous!!!!  People should always be wary of "free".  I have seen a few agents locally do their own Staging with furnishings and it wasn't good.  I am sure there are some agents that can do a great job but possibly not the majority.

Realtors do themselves a disservice by trying to stage themselves. They loose realtor cool points by wearing another hat. They should carry themselves as 'too busy with my real estate to do staging also!"

Cathy - Excellent post.  The first realtor sadly did not put the client's interest before their own. Everyone loses when that happens. Great work, thanks for sharing.
