Its like a New set of Eyes!

So yesterday my husband was schedued for Lasik Surgery. He has been wanting this for so long. We set up a consulation visit last months and did all the pre op appoints that were needed.

We had to go see his regular eye doctor to see how much correction he needed and explained the different procedures that could be done. We decided on the Mini Mono. Which is slight under correcting the weak eye so he would not need reading glasses in a few years.

You see if you correct both eyes, when you are in your 40's you will need to use reading glasses. If you under correct one eye you can prolong that.

So he came home early yesterday and we left to the Millennium Eye Center for his Lasik surgery. The staff was great, friendly and understanding. We saw the eye doctor again be the procedure to make sure the measurements were correct and then they prepared him for it.

One room you would see the Doctor preforming the procedure, then to another room that would cut open a flap on the eyes, then to another for the lasik portion of it. Those two were quick. I got to watch all of it. Pretty cool I must say. I was so surprised how fast it was all done.

Then he gets tested again to see how much he can see. Everything was pretty much blurry. I drove him home and put in all the necessary drops he needed. It started to hurt him once the numbing medicine wore off. I put some more in and he went to sleep.

When he woke up this morning he said he couldn't believe how crystal clear everything was. He was not use to not having to put his glasses on. We went back to the Doctor for a follow up to make sure the eyes were ok and to test his vision. 20/20 in just one day.

So if you are looking to get Lasik Eye Surgery then Millennium Eye Center is where you want to go. This Doctor works on all the teams here, Dolphins, Heat and Panthers!

My husband had the surgery done in 1999. He is very happy. As a fireman he needed the freedom from glasses, I feel he is safer on calls, and he is thrilled to see in the morning when he wakes up. Some of the gifts in life we can take for granted...like eye sight. Congradulations!

The more I read about it the more I am tempted to do it. It is just a little freaky to think about it too much. I kind of think I should get one eye done first and then a while later the other eye. Anyway good for your husband. My sister had it done and she said it is amazing to wake up and see clearly across the room.

My sight is good for now, but if it ever gets to be an issue I would not hesitate to do it-Dinah Lee

I think that lasik surgery is such a great solution to eye sight problems! I'm glad to hear your husbands experience was so great; finding a good surgery center can really effect your experience. I know that as I'm getting older and my eye sight is getting worse, my wife and I have talked about getting lasik so as to lessen the effect of aging. http://www.brandoneye.com/our-services/elective-eye-care/laser-vision-correction/
