fORECLOSURES SURGE IN MONTGOMERY COUNTY

There are a number of trustee sales scheduled in Montgomery County, Maryland for the coming week. The following is a sample schedule from one auction company:  Harvey West Auctioneers.

Trustee sales are open to the public and all qualified bidders. The required deposits must be in cash or certified funds. Personal checks are not accepted. Prospective bidders should carefully read the newspaper advertisements that appear for three weeks before the sales take place. If you are not familiar with the risks, seek professional advice and assistance. All of the sales must be ratified by the court.

Most of the properties that are sold are actually purchased by the secured mortgage lenders. The lenders then offer the homes for sale when they become part of the REO inventory.
