The Wildcat Powerlifting World Championships will be held this weekend, December 6 & 7th . Lifters from across the country will travel to Melbourne Florida to compete in the competition.

West Shore Wildcat Powerlifting

There will be 78 lifters competing in the competition.

Lifters range in age from 12 years old to 75 years old.

West Shore Wildcat Powerlifting

8th grade World Record Holder Sam Shores and Senior Jayson Wadzinski are heading the Wildcat team this weekend.

West Shore Wildcat Powerlifting

Jayson Wadzinski deadlifted 400 lbs in yesterday's competition.

Sam Shores RAW Powerlifting World Record Holder

Sam broke her own World record on this 245 lb. deadlift.

At yesterday's competition, 13 year old Sam Shores broke 4 World Records.

Sam has broken 15 Worlds Records since August 2007.

Sam Shores currently holds 7 World Records in Powerlifting.

Hey Miss Mary, We're so proud of Sam. She did an awesome and so many others on the team were phenomenal this weekend! These athletes are drug free and alcohol free. These should be proud of themselves for how hard they worked and how devoted they are to their lifting. Hope you, in turn, are well!

Larry, Thanks fot the congrats. These lifters are incredible! I love the atmosphere of being at one of these meets - everyone is so kind, supportive and incredibly friendly and helpful. They all work so hard to get where they are today!

Hi Fred, Oh no, I wasn't doing it again - was I - too much bragging???? LOL Sam is my youngest daughter and she is an incredible athlete. I can't believe at 13 years old she has broken 15 World Records and currently holds 7 of them right now - uh oh, I was doing it again, wasn't I? Bragging that is? I think it's great that the young lifters are learning to take care of themselves at a young age -hopefully they will carry it with them as they get older. I have told her that she can lift you - again, there's that funny side of you coming out again - you silly guy!

Sandy - She has to get a lot stronger to lift me, but she is well on her way. That is a fantastic accomplishment for someone so young. You have every right to be proud and to brag. Brag away I will defend your right to do so.

Hi Fred, She told me that she was disappointed that she didn't do better than a 245 lb deadlift!!!!!!!! What???? She is very well respected among the male athletes that lift with her (as she can lift more than some of them). She definitely holds her own. So great because she is a dancer also. So incredibly feminine at the same time. Both of my girls are SOOO AWESOME! I have to pinch myself as I feel soooooooo truly blessed to have such incredible daughters!
