I have tears in my eyes as I write this public apology to Mr. Buell, Home Inspector, Artist, Bird Tamer, and blogger friend.  He has tamed this bird and called it the Raven.  Ooops, I meant he HAD tamed this raven and trained it as an assistant.

HAD is the sadness.  The bird came calling on me in Arkansas since I have bragged on her beauty.

I was in the kitchen and my cat was outside with this really frantic meowing at the door.  I looked out to see what was her problem.  She had captured and tortured something and she wanted me to brag on her! She is very proud of her skills as a huntress.

I did brag on her and then she devoured the captured something.  Mr. Charles, I didn't have a chance to

grab it away.  It was your Raven!  raven gone   She was upside down.  Soon she was gone.

cat with raven

Mr. Charles, I'm so sorry.  If you want me to send the little necklace back I'll try to pick up the pieces and get them to you.  I'm afraid that flirty heart is history.

Charles, only cats have nine lives.  But go ahead and be a believer.  Activerain will understand that you now have an imaginary raven.

Barbara,

We investigate this kind of "accident." But when there is a mortality it is essential to investigate. I am sure that your kitty will be exhonerated, but I will send a detachment down to look into it.

Sincerely,

Nutsy, please tell me when the detachment will be here because she is a guard cat and you could be next!  You will make a personal (in person) trip, won't you??????  I've never heard her meow so loud as when she got that Raven.  Can't tell whether it was a meow of remorse or of exhilaration but she chomped Raven quickly.

Barbara, PLEASE don't be offended but, may I suggest that you ask for new glasses for Christmas?:)  What color are Crows?  That there bird your cat got sure ain't no crow.  I think if you check your Christmas decorations you will find that this bird was making off with some of the lights that you mistook for Raven's Necklace----your cat was just doing his job.  If you look at that last picture and the one here----Raven's necklace is very much intact and Raven is NOT laying on her back dead.

Mrs Barbara,

We are, this weekend, having problems with the Hell's Angels. The same batch we got a few days back, with your help in keeping my undercover image intact. For that reason I had to send a crack squad of investigators to Arkansas. I could not go on my own. For the doubting Charles out there, I have here a photo of the group departing for Searcy earlier today.

Mrs Barbara -- As you know, and thank you for your cooperation, that investigation is now complete. The report has been electronically sent to my office and it is posted below.

OFFICIAL REPORT

At 12:22pm Active Rain time, December 7, 2008 it was reported to international law enforcement authorities that there was a homicide at the Duncan home in Searcy, Arkansas. This came under international jurisdiction because the homeowner, a Mrs. Barbara Duncan, had reason to believe that the victim was out of Seattle, WA and went by the name Raven. That individual is in the Interpol computers as an international criminal.

A crack team of investigators immediately flew by helicopter, from Canada, to the scene. Mrs Duncan cooperated with the investigation even though her family cat was the primary suspect in the murder. It was determined, beyond any doubt, that Mrs. Barbara Duncan's initial suspicions were correct. The deceased is certainly Raven, who also goes by aliases such as Raven DeCrow. At first, due to the appearance of the deceased, it was not certain that this was the suspect, Raven. However, photo and lab analysis has confirmed that the suspect was in disguise. Upon removing loose feathers by the body, and by pulling off those glued on the bird, this was seen to be a clever disguise. The distinctive necklace, worn by the bird known as Raven, and stolen from a wealthy woman in Seattle, was found at the scene of the crime. The necklace will be returned to the victim of that recent theft.

Findings/Charges: No charges will be filed against the Duncan cat or any other party. It is apparent that the raven was attempting to break into the Duncan home and the actions of the cat were justifiable and commendable. While those of us in law enforcement are not in the position to give legal advice, it is suggested that the Duncan family consult with an attorney. It is possible that this bird was operating under the control of Mr Charles Buell, a mastermind of mischief from the Seattle area. If that is found to be the case, it might be possible to bring a civil suit against Buell for criminal trespass and aiding and abetting a burglary. The crime scene photo, revealing the full details, and providing positive ID of the victim, is below.

Case closed. Justice served.

Sincerely,

Nutsy, lead investigator, Searcy homicide

Well, Nutsy may be Nature's gift to law enforcement, but I don't think it takes a rocket scientist to see all the "doctoring" of photos that went on from the time of the supposed demise of Raven and the so-called "investigation."  Again----she is alive and well:  Raven DeCroe

Nutsy, you did a great job of investigating.  That report is so very thorough and gives all the pertinent information of the crime.  At first I didn't think it was a crime scene.  I thought it was a mistake and therefore I apologized to Mr. Buell for my cat who made a mistake.

BUT NOW!  Goodness!  I may need to, as you say, ask action to be taken against Mr. Buell.  He is a mighty powerful person to be able to send that crow all the way to Arkansas to committ crimes.  And I thought that crow loved me and threw me kisses.  ALL FAKE!  BUTTERING ME UP FOR NO TELLING WHAT!

I appreciate your doing a close-up of the crime scene with a better camera, too, showing without doubt that necklace and a black raven.  If it is within your power we might give my cat some kind of award for taking care of a well-known criminal.  Here she is in all her innocent glory.

Dear Mrs Barbara,

I am so pleased. I was going through the family archives trying to make sure there is nothing in my past that might taint my candidacy in the great state of Illinois. I found, to my delight, that my late uncle Almondo was very involved in the inner workings of Chicago politics. Mrs Barbara, don't you think that this will put a potato in the mouths of Mr James and Mr Charles. I think this could be a real boost.

Barbara,

I think that sometime, in the last few months, someone must actually grade them and assign points. Maybe I am naive. But I know that when I first got on here, you could kind of predict points and seldom did anything go over 300. Now it happens all the time. I cannot figure if someone grades the blog, gives it points and then the comments add to it. There are so many people here it is hard to believe someone reads all of this. Maybe they have some overall grade of average posts and the machine puts that in. You ought to do a blog asking AR gods how they do that. I always figured they hated the silly stuff, and while I have never had a Nutsy blog featured, they did put it in their daily Email newsletter a week back so I figure they do not want to string me up either.

Steven, they might be able to do points based on the number of different commenters.  When we just josh back and forth and play they probably could tell that by a machine.  They can't possibly read everything.  I've seen several blogs asking about points but there have been no answers.  Activerain has been so sluggish the last few days, I've had a hard time commenting on anything or pulling up anything.
