Parade of Christmas Lights La Pine Oregon 2008Every year La Pine Oregon has a great show of community support with a Christmas Light Parade.  I can still remember the first one "Trucker's Light Parade."  The parade has seen all kinds of weather and entries, in the beginning it seems that a lot of the trucks passing through this sleepy town would enter.

As the years have gone by more and more of the community members have joined in.  This event is one of those that many watch from the warmth of their running vehicles.  This year most of us stood along the road side and were pleasantly surprised to find the temperature near 40.

Next year - I hope our company can put together an entry.

If you missed this year's parade you can see it now by clicking on the photo.

Enjoy - if you are thinking of relocating to Central Oregon - this is just one of the event you can expect to enjoy, call or email me and I will share with you some of the other fun things to do in Central Oregn.

Wow, all of that in LaPine? Small town celebrations are always the best. We had the Springfield Christmas parade yesterday, I will have to get my pics posted.

How cool is that?  Sounds like La Pine has got the Christmas spirit big time!  Great video, btw.  Fantastic.  Oh, and I'm glad to see your smiling face back in the 'Rain! :)

Thesa--We have a similar event, the Holidazzle parade in Minneapolis, but our family has never gone...We are so wimpy when it is cold! :)

Thesa, Okay 40 is a pleasant surprise.  We would be grabbing our parkas and complaining about how cold it is (lol).  It looks like a fun time.

Thesa - We don't have anything like that here. Usually just the lightening of the Tree on the town green. Sounds like this is a blast!

Thesa, great picture. We had our's last night - in Phoenix, but I know there are others around as well. It's definitely a great time of year. ;-)

I love the light parades!  In Annapolis, there's a light parade on the water, but we always end up with a conflict at such a busy time of year.

I love Christmas parades. When I lived in Newport Beach, I attended the holiday parade on the bay every year. Everybody decorates their boats, loads up a thermos with hot-buttered rum and floats around Newport Bay.
