Send Your Posts to Twitter (and Facebook Too) with EASE!

This post is a follow-up to the many emails and comments on my post about communicating with Generation-Y.

Believe me, this is the easiest thing to accomplish and you'll just love having your post sent over to Twitter and Facebook without even having to think about it--after the initial re-direction of your posts! You can accomplish this easily for Twitter from your Active Rain home page in a matter of seconds; Facebook requires you to do this from their site. Here are VERY simple instructions to accomplish this in no time at all:

TWITTER:

STEP 1: From this post, click on MY HOME

Twitter Step 110

STEP 2: Click the SETTINGS tab on the left side of your Active Rain home page.
Twitter Step 2

STEP 3: ENTER you Twitter ID and Password. You will also be directed to click or not to allow your members only posts to go to your Twitter account. These posts are for members only here so, I don't check that box because I don't want them on my Twitter account.

TWITTER Steps 3 & 4

STEP 4: (Displayed above) Click UPDATE! That's IT!

You're done and your posts will now be fed to your Twitter account. Took you about 5 seconds, didn't it?! Follow me on Twitter!

FACEBOOK:

STEP 1: Login to Facebook
Sign onto Facebook

STEP 2: In the search box (right hand corner), enter Blogcast and hit search (in Facebook)

STEP 3: The first or second application that comes up should be Blogcast; click on Blogcast

STEP 4: Click Go To Application

STEP 5: Click Allow to allow access to your Active Rain profile.

STEP 6: Enter your blog feed URL. I have entered mine here and yours is probably similar--only you most likely have your last name (no one is named Debe so, I always try to get just my first name only). Substitute my name for yours in the URL address (don't forget the /rss after your name), allow them to handle all of the work for you and hit LET'S BLOGCAST!
Facebook Final Step

Believe it or not, you're all done with both Twitter and Facebook, in a matter of minutes! Now all of your posts from Active Rain are going to be sent to your Facebook and Twitter accounts! One click (entering a post on AR) sends them to all three places and you don't even have to worry about Twitter and Facebook--it's DONE for you!

Very cool! I knew how the twitter thing worked but never know how to post over to facebook. I had noticed that most of my AR friends on Facebook were posting their blogs via the Blogcast and never know it would be so simple to set it up. Thank you for the tutorial!

Good post. Are people really that interested in your every word though? What is a good number of subscribers to have?

Hi Randall! Thanks and I'm sure they're not interested in my every word but, it's 'triple exposure' when you write a post and it goes out to the other two as well! I could possibly capture a client that does not know about AR or does not read AR by sending out to Twitter and Facebook and having them catch the article/post there. As for the number of subscribers, I don't have any idea what a good number is! Sorry--you could visit some of the older members' and see what they have, then relate it to the amount of time you've been here--I don't know.

Debe - I had done the set-up for Twitter from AR but wasn't aware of how to do it in Facebook. I do now thanks to your great tutorial! I just came from setting it up in Facebook and it was a snap. I second the motion by Greg and Gail that this deserves a "gold star!"

Hi Donna! Thanks for the flag and best of luck getting the Facebook rss feed set up. It is OH SO simple--you'll be amazed! I dreaded it forever, then had Jeremy Blanton help me and had no clue that it could be that simple. Debe- hee hee, this is funny. I just wrote post about how too many agents are using Twitter to just have it announced that they just posted a post. That alone is not going to get anyone anywhere on Twitter. People on Twitter know that that is an auto notifier.

Twitter, like AR is all about paying it forward and reaching out to your network of other agents and consumers and referall sources from other fields. If you are on Twitter and just doing shout outs, look at me, I just wrote another post, that is self serving and that does not go over well on social media networks.

Debe, thanks for the info on sending your posts to twitter and facebook. I intend to give it a shot. A question for anyone who can help me. Often, when I do a print preview before printing, everything looks fine but when I get the printout there is some print over print making it hard if not impossible to read. I have only noticed this on my AR printouts. It happened when I tried to print out your original article on the Y Gen and when I printed out the send your post to twitter article. Any suggestions? Debe - very easy to follow post, well written. Unfortunately, I have had my AR set to feed through to Twitter for quite some time now. It worked in the beginning, but no longer does. I checked the settings to make sure that it is still set up as it should be and it is...I know others have had this problem as my response from AR support was simply "this is a known issue" - but no resolution or ETA of a fix. Anyone have any info on that? Thanks!!! I think I set up my FB account too...but I will go check it to make sure, thanks for the reminder!

Great post Debe- not sure all the blogs from AR get to twitter every time even though you check these settings? HOWEVER we tweet our listings from hotpads.com to twitter and they show up every time! - We even had a lead call us about seeing a home by doing this!

I think I have the posts set up on AR to go to Twitter, but didn't know how to do it for Facebook. I think this will really be beneficial for me. You also have explained it very well, and I like the page captures and arrows.

I already have my Twitter post updating my Facebook status so by doing this my post already go there. This way it just gives a link to my post which drives traffic back to my AR blog.

Roger: For some reason, I just found this comment--SO sorry! Honestly I think that the blogcast is just an automatic transfer that you just never have to worry about again! The notes section addition requires updating and time to do so!
