Julia Swartz Gallery Lancaster PA

Right in downtown Lancaster City is an area known as Gallery Row.  Dozens of galleries, museums, and shops filled with fine art, folk art, jewelry, sculptures, furniture, home decorations, and art studios are contained in this area.  The biggest concentration is along Prince Street between Walnut and King Streets.  First Friday is a great opportunity to experience these studios and shops.  Most are open late and you can often meet the artists and partake of some appetizers.

Red Raven Art Company, Living Light Gallery, The Irish Gypsy, Gallery 141, Christiane David, and City Folk, Lancaster PACity Folk are a few places you can visit in this area.

 

 

 

There are plenty of places to eat within walking distance of Gallery Row. The Prince St Cafe is a great place to have a hot drink.  Then head upstairs to the Julia Swartz Gallery, pictured here.

The Fulton Opera House is here too, it's a National Historic Landmark. Currently playing here is 42nd Street. Next door is the newly built PA Academy of Music.

Stop by Gallery Row to see some great art, meet the artist, or maybe buy a great piece for your Lancaster home.

Jeff, sounds like a wonderful place to Christmas shop!  It's so much more fun to buy a gift from the artist directly than to go into some chain and buy some junk.
