A New York Feng Shui ARTIST-You MADE it, Laura Cerrano!

We all know what the power of a Comment can do-and I often remember other people's blogs that have made an impression on me.  Gary Wortal  Gary Woltal - REALTOR® Dallas Ft. Worth   wrote a post not too long ago and the words stayed with me:  "I Wouldn't Have Missed it for the World." Life Is Too Short Aphorisms

I am in awe of my children-both of them.  They each followed their hearts in choosing their work.  Most of you know my daughter Laura is also a New York Feng Shui Consultant and we often work together.

Still, she has other loves-She is a Certified Personal Trainer and also Certified in WILLPOWER & GRACE.    willPower productions She loves ART and is graduating New Paltz College with a BFA and a BS in teaching.  Her big day was arriving:  Her Gallery Presentation.  Feeling somewhat under the weather I wondered if I'd be able to go-it's a LONG ride AND a very long day.

I told Laura when she called that day I would not be able to make it-and while sad, she understood.  Still, Gary's words didn't leave me.  I grabbed a change of clothes and asked my son to come and get me-I COULD NOT miss this.

I arrived at the show with Adam and watched Laura as she went around and spoke to her mentors and friends.  When she saw me it was a magic moment-and some crying.  "Laura, I wouldn't have missed this for the WORLD."

I'm SO glad I didn't.  Adam makes custom cakes and he'd made a huge, beautiful cake in an Artist's Pallette.  It was a HIT!  So was the show.  Here's a few shots of a wonderful night and yet another lesson learned from a friend on Activerain.

*The pictures were NOT crooked--the person taking them might have been :)

**The cake was cut into before we had a SECOND to take a picture :(  But it was a HIT!

Carole, I AM SO GLAD YOU ARE A LIVING EXAMPLE of "I wouldn't miss it for the world!!" You see, your example whether you know it or not, means the world to your daughter and Adam was a part of it too. More people have GOT to live with that wouldn't miss it for the world mentality. I am glad my words haunted you. You made the world definitely a better place that day. Beautiful pictures all of them. My favorite? You should know. The smiling faces!! Carole, that was because of YOU!!! What a beautiful person you are.

I just love this post -- it is so inspiring and Gary is right we have to live with that "i wouldn't miss it for the world" attitude.  Life is just way to short!  I love your daughter's art work -- looks like she has inherited you talent and artistic flare!

Carole - I could almost see your daughter Laura and you crying together when you showed up at the gallery.  How wonderful that the words "I Wouldn't Miss This For The World' made this such a special day for you, Laura and Adam.  You have two beautiful children and must be so proud of their accomplishments.  Way to go MOM!

Oh Carole, I am so happy that you made it there.  The paintings really have life glowing in them somehow.  Great stuff.  Congratulations Laura, you'll have to give me some insider tips for my son who starts at New Paltz in January.  Good luck in your future!

Carole- your daughter's painting are amazing! No wonder you're so proud of your children. I have 2 amazing children also that are following their dream. Maybe we should start a group- "here's our kids!"

Love Gary's idea- I wouldn't miss it for the world.  I missed that blog, have to go back and read it.

Happy Wednesday!

Gary, Thank you and thanks always for the words of wisdom.  You should have seen her face and because those words stayed with me it's a day none of us will forget!

Joan, What powerful words--and they couldn't have come along at a better time.  I am SO glad I went and will always have the memories.

Donna, Good thing she didn't have much makeup on :)  It was such a wonderful time and yes, I'm very proud of them both.

Donna Y, You can tell, I know :)  I am a proud mother and watch their accomplishments and marvel at them.

Liz, I know, I was wishing I had my old platforms on!  My children are adopted from Colombia and they still tower above me :)

Kris, I think we both covered a half box.  People kept coming over to her to ask hwe what was wrong...Laura has been winning art contests since the 3rd grade (her first showing actually).

Paddy, Your son is going to love New Paltz--Laura did and she will really miss it.  She went for a BS and BFA so she was away longer--and you're closer so you'll get to see your son often.  I wish him a wonderful time at school.

Linda, By all means start it, I would join in a hearbeat and so would all the other mothers.  Kids can be a joy (and sometimes more then you bargained for).  And I wonder how they feel about me calling them "kids."

Hi Carole-Just returned from a vacation and wanted to see what you had been up to. What an absolutely beautiful post and a wonderful tribute not onlyh to your daughter but your fighting spirit as well. It truly is what keeps us going. I've missed you and hope your health challenges don't rob you of the most important things in life. I understand what's that like. Have a blessed day my friend. :-)

Deborah,  Her technique is constantly changing and growing, as well as the energy within the paintings. The energy absolutely took hold I was very glad I made it.

Pat, How was your vacation, I'm sure it was a wonderful time. Thank you, I missed you as well and am so glad you're back in the "rain." I may be out for a few days myself :)

Hi Carole,

WOW her art is AMAzING! Literally breath-taking. I bet you are so proud. She's going to be famous for sure, just like her mommy! :-)

My kids aren't showing any sign of becoming real estate coaches, agents or feng shui practitioners, but my 18-year old son brough home a bamboo plant and told his sister it was "good feng shui," so I guess I am rubbing off a little!

Thanks for sharing.
