I recently purchased an iPhone and an iMac, and am tremendously impressed with these products from APPLE. I'm also a bit overwhelmed with their capabilities and applications.

So I thought it would be great to form a group dedictaed to APPLE products where we could share our experiences using this innovative and dynamic technology.

I invite all ActiveRainers to join this new group: iMacs, iphones & iPods

From finding new applications for iPhones, to discovering features on IMacs and Macbooks, let's use this forum as a place to expand our knowledge and skills.

Hi, Stewart, there's another newly formed group called iPhone Power moderated by Ryan Hukill. Take a look and see what's already there, too.

Stewart... I'm in... I'm a long time MacAholic from my first MacPlus in 1984.   I don't yet have an iPhone (only because AT&T Service is terrible here)...but am up to speed on everything else.

I'm the sole imac on the Coldwell Banker regional network... yikes!

Stewart, there is also a Mac Users group on Active Rain that has had a lot of great posts.  I'm a Mac convert, and like many converts, I've turned into a bit of a zealot!  I cannot figure out how Bill Gates got so rich!

My first computer in 1982 or so was an Apple -- not a Mac. It was called something like an "Apple IIc" It was great. Of course, now it would seem like a mechanical calculator with paper tape from the 1950s. Since then, however, I've been a PC person and my phone has been a Palm, until this weekend when I got the Blackberry Storm. I realize its an Apple imitator, but its what Verizon has and I'm a Verizon customer, period. Not much choice of network given where I live and where I travel.

Thanks for the invite, Stewart! I've been doing a bit of my own exploration and reporting on the iPhone finds over on my blog if you want to get some reviews on the available iPhone apps. I just got an iPod touch for my daughter for Christmas and I'm learning the differences between what works on the iPhone, vs. what works on the iPod. (Can't figure out why the iPod doesn't offer the mic and camera options -- that would really be nice for those wifi babies among us.)

I bought my first Mac this summer. I'm a geek and had always resisted the lure of Apple. Dunno why. I'm a convert in a big way. My iMac doesn't even burp when I throw serious multi-tasking at it. And, I don't spend my life trying to tweak it and keep it virus free and running smoothly. It's the best of the Unix/Linux functionality and the ease of use that only Apple offers.

I've built and rebuilt machines for over 25 years and geek or not, I'm loving the fact that I don't always have to tear into my machine or try to figure out what's wrong. It just works. Finally I can run my business and ENJOY my technology. I get the tech itch scratched by learning as much as I can about expanding the usefullness of the iMac and the iPhone. I love mobile, and find the iPhone much better than the Treo I used to run. I don't even WANT to carry a laptop or a tablet PC everywhere I go now! I have my iPhone and that's enough! (I can even access my iMac FROM my iPhone when I'm on the road).

I've been rather quiet over here on AR for quite some time... maybe this will get me back in the swing of things!

Thanks again,

Angela

Stewart, great to see another group formed out of sharing information!  I'll drop by and hope we can all find ways to better use the technologies available to us to further our businesses and free up more time for what's important.

I was a Mac freak for years. I had G4's and iMacs for my design business and at home. Then I had a string of problems, and I switched to Dell PCs. I still LOVE MACS.

Now I'm trying to break my Motorola Q so I can get an iPhone

Hey Stewart,

I will keep my eyes on this group. I am a mac nut who has been using them since the 1990. I was in the television biz for 20 years so I was bound and determined to keep it when I became a Realtor. I can't have an iphone due to no att service in the canyon where I live in Glendale. I use the mac for all of my flyers, my website was made on my mac,  I download i-tunes songs for open houses, I make property videos with i-movie. Glad to know I am not alone out there! I am an agent at Dilbeck GMAC in La Canada

Hello all, glad to see more Mac users out there. You might also add http://activerain.com/groups/macusers to your Groups list.

I'm a new iPhone user and I must admit it has made me seriously consider switching from PC to MAC. Now if I could only get our MLS to work with something other than IE it would be a done deal.

Good for you! I've had the i-phone since it came out, sold that on craigslist to get the new 3g...love that phone too!  But I also have the i-pod, love that too!  One thing I'm missing is a mac, everyone around me that has one, sad to say...they don't like it nor do they recommend it.  So I'll just wait and see. :)  Have fun with your new technology.  It's fun!
