Need to grow your business?

Tried Twitter?

So you don't get it?

Have a few questions?

The trend is really growing for Twitter, not a day goes by that I don't meet people?

Have a quick question?

People love to help out and are quick to get back to you?

It is time to position yourself NOW for the future, things change all the time, social networks come and grow. MySpace is down, still hot but down by 1%, Twitter is growing, 2.6 million strong up 442% through August.

Watch and learn to set up a Twitter Account, and get going for 2009. Thanks Maria Andros from @mariaAndros at Twitter.

Missy - Ironic that you post this.  Was on a conference call yesterday and one of my peers finally convinced me that being on Twitter is not only something I should consider, but implement now.  Doing so today... about freaking time I suppose:)

Missy-I got a coaching client interview through Twitter this week. I have met so many people so fast, not even in real estate but that are very good contacts. Just homeschool alone, I have a lot of homeschool parents and businesses following me. How cool is that! You can meet anyone you want to meet on Twitter!

I've made a lot of great contacts through Twitter that I otherwise might never have met. It's a pretty powerful tool for just 140 characters at a time.

I have been slowly building a folllowing on Twitter. I have about 1500 followers, actually more followers than I follow, and a Twitter grade of 99.7/100 on Twitter Grader. The most interesting thing though is I was contacted by a real estate service provider, one that I admire, to give my input on how Twitter my benefit or be implemented  into their business. This is just one example of the power that tools like this have. If it wasn't for Twitter I probably never would have a had such an opportunity.

Missy - I've had a twitter account for several months and many mornings I'll read a couple of pages of "tweets" but I'm not sure where to get it in. some people appear to be "talking to each other" but I don't see the networking that everyone here is talking about. I'm reading all that I can about it in hopes that the lightbulb will soon go off! Can you give me any insights on how to learn this?

Missy--I know that you have been a Twitter fan for awhile now and I have to take the time to figure out why. I remember your  post on how your twitter message about your computer got you through to service in a matter of minutes even though you hadn't contacted them. That was ages ago, but I recognized the power of Twitter then. Thanks for the push...I may be twittering more soon.

Missy.... I signed up in July and only last week was it the first time that I sent out a few tweets just with links... and yesterday was the first day that I actually had conversations with other tweeters. Being new, I didn't know how to navigate until I put my feet out there. Now I know how newbies feel when they join AR... great post in getting people out there.

OH - whomever was asking about searching on Twitter...Dean I believe...there is a link at the very bottom of Twitter that says "Search" - that should do what you need :-)

I have so much extra time and was looking for some way to burn some minutes.  Okay..note of sarcasm..sorry Santa..know you are watching. Good post on the point of making your personality come thru, socializing before thrusting all the links to your services. Folks from other cultures sit down, have a meal and get to know you before they do business. Americans like to hit the drive thru and chop chop..get this done so you can get on to the next 300 items on your daily to do list (looking at watch) Missy..thanks for the video present..you shouldn't have...(smile)

Hey Missey,

I'm a huge fan of Twitter myself.  Just last week, I had a question that I asked 70 agents in my office to help out via email and got no response.  Zilch.

I asked the same question of my followers on Twitter and got about a dozen responses inside of 3 minutes. Problem solved.

You get out of it what you put into it.  It's that simple.

As always, thanks for sharing!

I have been on twitter for about two weeks. I think like anything you need to spend your time finding people that you want to socialize with and value their opinion. I personally find it time consuming and yes I have tweetdeck so it comes right to my laptop and I have a twitter app on my iphone. I think like anything people need to find a balance. I have actually found it more useful for personal things than business so far. I have a special needs kiddo and got some great links to information on twitter. I will stay on for those personal reasons alone, but whether it does anything for my business...only time will tell.

Jason, friend me.

Joel, same thing for me and then I don't have to write a "I need help post" on Activerain. Short sweet and lots of help.

Connie, I know how you feel, you just have to jump in and start talking to folks you know. It has grown so much, when I first joined I felt the same way, "no one talks to me". At some point it will all click and that is all I can say about that.

Kathy, I made that same mistake and quickly took it off my phone. Now I log on to Slandr from my phone and can twit if I am waiting on an appointment.

Matt, LOL...

Dean, it is the search at the bottom you can search for anything there and follow it in TweetDeck.

Teresa, I don't just follow or am followed by Realtors either. Met lots of totally new people on there both from MI and my conservative Republican friends.

I just stopped in to throw another comment on this post. It got my attention because over the last few days I've received a bunch of requests to follow. I guess I better turn off AVG so I can access my Twitter Account. Oh. Wait. You're gonna want to know about that. When I decline Twitter Cookies Twitter holds my account hostage.
