Keith:  RE/MAX in Texas has come up with a "connection" with a Texas title company, and somehow worked out some sort of "shares" program through Fidelity.  It has been going on for over two years, now, and I am sure they do a great job.

But... I do not believe in it... and have not from the beginning.  Shares... phooey !  I want my title company "closer"... and the whole company... working for MY sellers and buyers.  The best service, and the willingness to go the extra (legal) mile in making things happen is what counts.  Forget the in-house silliness.  Just my three cents.

Nope. That goes against my principles. I don't believe in INHOUSE title agencies or in REALTOR-OWNED shares in an outside agency.

Keith:  Luckily, my Re/Max agency, and Re/Max's in general do not impose "in house" title companies or lenders on us.  I know many companies who get pretty close to insisting that these services be used... but to my knowledge, RE/MAX is not one of them.  I am so glad.

I agree with all, I do not like "in house" services.  Those types of things were occurring in Washington State a few years ago and our Attorney General put the "kabosh" on any title company giving anything of value for business.

I never really believed in it before. I use my escrow office and title company because they deliver excellent services to my clients.

We've always had the freedom to use the title company that fits our needs best.  I've chosen my title companies based on excellent and knowledgeable service that I have received from the title officers and reps.  When I've had tough questions on funky title reports, I want to know that I have some experts that can get to the bottom of it!
