picYet another scam "pops up" in our email.  You may have seen this one; perhaps not.

It is a new twist.  Most of the others have come from some foreign national who needs your assistance in moving their millions of dollars or some widow who has unclaimed funds that she needs your help accessing.  Or are you a long-lost relative?

This is the first time I've seen this one; apparently the originator of this scam feels you'll fall for a serviceman; how low can they go.  Notice how they misspelled confidentiality in this one!

Dear Pal,

I do hope my email meet you in good health. I am LTC. Paul Wallace a U.S. helicopter maintenance supervisor in the 3rd Infantry Division, in Iraq. I am writing to solicit your allegiance as the custodian to an asset value of 10 Million dollars that we are transferring out of this country.
My partner and I are in need of a good partner someone we can trust to actualize this venture. The money is from oil proceeds and legal. And we are transferring it through a diplomatic pouch to your house directly or a safe and secured location of your choice, via the safe passage of a diplomatic courier.
If you're agreeable get yourself a deal by replying to: XXXXXXXXXXX
Once you receive the funds, you are to take an awesome reward of 15% and custody our part for onward instruction on whether you're shrewd enough in our assessment to invest the money. Your part of the deal is being the trustful custodian to this funds, our part is sending it to you. We seek your utmost rationality and confidenciality in this.

Never ceases to amaze me..all of the scams and to tell the truth, I am always somewhat put-off by someone I do not know calling me  "Buddy"!

I recieved the exact same email today.  It is in my bulk folder right now.  I wonder if he got our email addresses off of Active Rain.  It is so sad that we have crooks like this in our world.  Of all things to try and take advantage of.

I just copy them and email them to AR under the heading "more spam."  Then I delete them.  You might want to break the active link in your comment above--just highlight the url address and hit the "broken chain link" to inactivate it.
