Historically, December is always slow for me. I have just chalked it up to people don't want to buy a house during Christmas when they are needing to buy presents, going to parties, finishing Thanksgiving leftovers....

Secret MessageHowever, this year is different. I have received more mortgage applications this month than the last 2 combined. I was talking about this to one of my Realtors who sent me 3 Buyers last night and she said that it was the same for her -suddenly her phone is ringing and clients are wanting to look at houses this month more than previous months.

She said that it is as if people are starting to realize that no matter what the media says -the economy is going to get better and now is the time to take advantage of these low rates!

I've noticed an uptick in activity this month also. Maybe it's just a coincidence, but I'm happy to see it happen and I'll ride it as longs as it lasts.

For me, things ARE really picking up. I agree with you- I think consumers are finally looking past the headlines and taking charge of their lives by taking advantage of the great rates and prices available to them.

Best of luck with your business and Have a very Merry Christmas!

Things here are still in an uncertainty with all the layoffs.  Unfortunately too many businesses here are tied into the big three, and with the auto makers slow down, it is disaster when the loss of jobs hit.  One plant is losing 5,000 employees this month alone.

Things will get better, just when is uncertain.  Good to see you here, and I wish you good luck on your new site too.
