Parade marquee in front of Bel Air Town HallYou missed it didn't you?

Well, we didn't.

So, we did the parade thing on Sunday in the bitter cold.  Totally The Sydster's decision to continue the tradition and march in the parade, thereby foregoing the final game of her basketball tourney.

-the tourney where her team kicked butt in several games throughout Friday and Saturday.

-the tourney that took place in a nice, toasty gym.

But, I digress...

So, Syd marched and the family supported and...

To Recap--

  • This was the 19th annual Bel Air Christmas Parade and The Sydster was scheduled to march.
  • Last year's parade was cancelled because of the weather (frigid cold, ice, sleet, general nastiness).
  • This year's parade was not cancelled.
  • It was cold as a snowman's nose out there.
  • Half of the poor souls who braved the weather left before Santa & Mrs. Claus even arrived to signal the end of the parade!
  • I think they all snuck off to the hot chocolate spot.**
  • This year's parade should have been cancelled.

**Most were probably muttering under their breath, "How low can it go?! Brrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr."

Did I mention that it was cold?

You sound like you live in a great community...you can keep that cold, though (I live in the rainy but balmy Pacific Northwest Coast area).

Nothing like a good parade.  I made it to the Macy's Day Parade and enjoyed myself this year.

Morgan - I was recently in NYC shopping for the weekend and I couldn't imagine being out there (for a parade) w/all those people. That whole Macy's thing is light years away from our little ole parade!
