Will Blagojevich hurt our chances for the 2016 Summer Olympics?

Ok, Rod is out or on the way out.  That's a good thing.  I hate to see what our politicians are doing or have done while supposedly working for us.

So lets fast forward for a second.  Chicago is the only US city still under consideration to host the 2016 Summer Olympics.  If successful, the greater Chicagoland economy would receive a economic shot in the arm that would be significantly positive.. it is projected that there will be 4000+ workers imported into the greater Chicagoland area to prepare our area for this event.

These 4000+ workers and their families will need places to live, eat, spend and schools to raise their children.  In addition, this event would virtually eliminate unemployment in most of the construction trades in our area.  One other benefit is the positive impact the Olympics would have on our housing market.

So my question is, Did Rod hurt our chances to host the 2016 Summer Olympics???

If China was allowed to host them I dont see how the Olympic Committee can be seen as having any sort of discretion.

I hope you are right Shane.  I certainly thing that Obama is a big asset to Chicago in promoting the Olympics but I get nervous when negative things like having a corrupt Governor running around does to our chances...  I guess time will tell.  Eleven months to go until the Olympic committee makes their decision...

I chose that pic of Rod as I think it reminds us that our elected officials have taken an oath to serve us.  What a sham in this case don't you think?
