IKEA Coming To Tampa !!!!

IKEA is coming to Tampa! To many this may mean nothing, but this has special meaning to me. I LOVE IKEA!!!

Years ago, when I lived in Europe and was just starting out with family and children, we just to purchase our furniture and everything from towels and pillowcases to pots and pans at IKEA. It was trendy and inexpensive - extactly what young families want!

When I moved to this country I left all my IKEA furniture behind! Then about 6 years ago I opened a coffee shop and wanted to put IKEA in. So I had everything from tables and chairs to sofas and loveseats shipped down from the Northwest since there was no local IKEA!

So I am pleased as punch that we are now getting an IKEA right here in Tampa! It is set to open during the Summer of 2009!!! I for one can't wait! It is a great place to purchase things for my granddaughter's bedroom!!!

Ah, IKEA memories!!!! Little things that make me smile!!!!

They recently opened one in Ft. Lauderdale and I got soooo excited. IKEA is the best.

Barbara-Jo - I'm very happy for you. The closest IKEA is about an hour away, so I don't get there often.

Barbara-Jo, we bought bookcases and cd towers from IKEA back when we lived in Chicago years ago. They have held up well and still look great. I really like their stuff. Glad to hear you will be getting one near you soon.

Elayna - Indeed and they ALWAYS have some great thing you can't live without on sale!!!

Tom - This one will be about 45 minutes from where I live, but well worth the trip!

Rich - I bought bookcases in Germany when I was there - moved them 3 times and they never looked like they had been moved! A girlfriend now owns them - 20 years later she still has them!

YES, YES, YES. I had two different Ikea stores within a 10 mile radius when I lived in Germany

Ikea used to have a Christmas tree return program where they refunded you the fee upon returning the tree to the store...!!! Neat place! Thanks, Fran

Barbara-Jo: We don't have an IKEA down here in my part of the country, but when I lived in Chicago, we had several in the area. You're right --- IKEA is a fantastic store. I remember going in IKEA near Chicago (actually Bolingbrook, IL) and just about everything I laid my eyes on I wanted to buy. I'm sure you can't wait for summer to arrive so you can go shopping. Hey, by the way, I wasn't aware that you lived in Europe before and also owned a coffee shop. You have an interesting background.
