I am a fairly new Realtor, having just got my license in May....and since then I have sent out farming letters to friends, families, and acquaintance's letting them know my recent change in career. I have also become a member of myspace, AR and facebook, and soon to be Twitter... where I have gotten in contact with a lot of people. And have even snagged a lead or two.

I have some business, but like everyone else in todays world, I want more!!! As a young Realtor, the clients I bring in, could be clients for life... and I want to make that list large. I need to look out for today as well as for tomorrow.

With that being said I am going back to the basics. Instead of spending all my time on social networking sites, I think I need to get out into the world. See people and meet face to face. Go to gatherings, functions, parades, fairs, etc... I have my name out there... Now I need to get my face out there.

I think this is going to prove as a valuable tool for me... what do you guys think?

Tony... The basics are the fundamentals on which you build your business.  There are many ways to lead generate, but getting in front of people, face-to-face, is probably the most effective way to network and build relationships.

Listen to Warren Buffet: "If everyone is doing something, do something else." I have a marketing and business consulting company with 19 Realtors and home inspectors with whom I'm currently working. All of them are back to basics people since no one else is doing it. You can create a great niche market for yourself, and depending on how you persistently and consistently work that market, you can very easily and very rapidly create an extremely good income for yourself.

Best wishes for health, happiness, peace, and prosperity in 2009.

Tony, the basics are always just that~the basics. Always start there! Very wise for such a young fellow.
