And So This is the Promised Story - Me, A/R and My New beginning at Keller Williams!

Well for those of you that haven't noticed......I'm now with Keller Williams! And that... is what I was doing in Austin - Texas last week! Corporate head office for KW is in Austin...........and I was there for a Training Bootcamp.......

So after 20 years of selling Real Estate - I've now accepted as position as Team Leader and Managing Broker for the Keller Williams Valley Realty office in Abbotsford, B.C.

How did THAT happen you say? lol Well...I've always wanted to get into managing, training/coaching etc.....and its kind of interesting...how preparation can meet opportunity!.

..........It was here on A/R that I first found out about Keller Williams.......there were many posts written by Keller Williams Realtors.......whom I admired......and I was curious about their company and its unique philosphy..........

One day I said........."too bad we don't have a Keller Williams here in Canada".........and low and behold one of those Realtors did some research and found out ............that there WAS a Keller Williams office.......in a town 30 minutes from me ..........and they called the Manager and that Manager called me!......... Its rather amazing how a strange series of events led me down this road of opportunity.

After many many interviews.....testing, personality profiles......more interviews.........and an intensive reference check, up 15 to be exact........I completed a vetting process that surely outrivaled Sarah Palin's! :-)... and I was offered the position...:-)

So here I am, finally living my dream! I've just completed my first week, of just beginning to get to know the 70 or so Realtors in our Keller Williams Family.........of getting to know a new town (Abbotsford is approximately 30 minutes west of Chilliwack)........familiarizing myself with the competition (other Real Estate Companies) in my community......putting a recruiting process in place.......immersing myself in Gary Keller's books like the The Millionaire Real Estate and Shift............

Having my First Sales meeting.....reading and reviewing contracts..........planning a training schedule..........and booking my next trip to Austin next month.........its been a WOW of a week..........

I'm thrilled to be here.........I'm passionate about the Keller Williams model, philosophy and culture...........I'm falling in love with my New Keller Williams Family.....and looking forward to sharing some of it in future posts!

I think you know this already, but I recently joined Keller Williams and when I think about all that our team leader (Mary Lou Laporte) does on a daily basis it makes my head swim. It takes a special and energetic person to take on what you did, but then again you are a special and energetic person :-)

How exciting, are you going to Family Reunion? I hope so, as I will be there. Speaking on a panel, not sure on the topic but probably blogging or social networking.

If so let's plan a AR get together. Last year, there was not one and it was such a shame to not have a place where we could all gather.

Congratulations LIZ! My husband and I just moved from Windermere to Coldwell Banker which is a perfect fit. It is great to find the right match and be so full of energy it is hard to sleep! Best of luck...not that you need it!

Welcome aboard. Most agents don't get that this business is all about them, not the company they work for. Those OTHER agents need to ask themselves how can a company become the 4th largest real estate company in the US without ever placing ad anywhere. Hopefully someone will read this reply and ask themselves that question.

I was at a training event... we attend these in part to receive renewal hours... of course we also learn a thing or two. The instructor, who has many years in the industry said, "the greatest real estate book for our time is 'Shift'... go out and buy it immediately." I guess that's a pretty good endorsement. :-)

Liz- Congratulations - I am a little behind on reading your posts for the last 3 weeks, I am having a hard time accepting my 8 year old cat had cancer. She got sick on Dec. 6^th and after $2000 of tests, they tell me she has cancer with a week to live. She passed on Dec. 17^th. She was the love of my life. I never had that much love for any other animal.

She will be missed.
