For everyone who lives in Cromwell CT that has children.. today is most likely a day they have been looking forward to for a while.
The Cromwell Fire Dept is driving all over Cromwell CT with Santa on the top of the truck giving out candy canes to all the children that are outside waiting for them.
This takes a lot of planning on the part of the fire department... because they go on every street. They start first thing in the morning and finish around 6pm.
So when you hear fire trucks today, it might not be that they are off to a fire.. they might be heading to your house with candy canes...
Here is yet another reason why Cromwell CT is a great place to live.

Valerie - A wonderful tradition for your FD. My Grand Daughter would be real disappointed though. Took her to see reindeer and it wouldn't fly for her. she can't wait till Christmas when she can see that.
Jack... This time of year is terrific.. I can be a child again, and live Christmas again through them. I hope your daughter hears the reindeer.. but she had better be asleep and not see them on Christmas Eve.
Valerie, I hope they had more than one Santa to stand on top of the Fire Truck today, because it was cold out there .......... burrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr :)
Valerie,
It was 75 degrees yesterday in Tucson. Come on over and visit my blog. It won't make you warmer back there in the cold, but it'll make you smile. Smiles make you feel warmer! Thanks for posting about Santa!
Mike in Tucson
George... Need you forget... Santa has all that padding.. a right jolly ole elf. I couldn't tell.. his nose and cheeks were red... maybe too much alcohol... ho, ho, ho.
Mike... Hot Toddies (not sure of the spelling) are a great way to get warm here in the northeast. However, right now, a nice day of 75° sounds great. We've had pouring rain.. then it froze, it's been raw and nasty here... not my idea of Christmas... I want SNOW.
Hi Valerie, thanks for your note - I'm doing well, thanks. Sorry I didn't get around to telling everyone. This is awesome that Santa goes to every street!! It's like a dry run for Christmas Eve :) If he found your house on Saturday, there is no way he will miss it on the big night :)
Kara.. You are most welcome. I'm glad you are feeling better.. I can tell.. you are on the computer.
My younger son likes when Santa comes... just for that reason... it refreshes his memory of where he lives. LOL.
