My real estate company, Graham, Welch, & Associates, LLC, has teamed up with a local food bank, Harvesters! We are collecting canned goods for those in need during the holidays! We have placed boxes in all 24 of our new home communities, including the one I market Delaware Highlands!
We have put a tremendous amount of work into this drive. We have walked the communities, hanging door hangers, sending out newsletters, making phone calls, and sending emails. The response has been great. People in Kansas City are caring and giving people. They realize the importance of the need this year, and have come together to make sure every family in need this season, will be able to have food on their table. I am proud that my company is sponsering this drive!

GWA Communities Helping Harvesters This Holiday Season

In keeping with their commitment to clients and the community first, Graham-Welch & Associates has recently launched a huge Holiday Homes Tour campaign dedicated to helping Harvesters.
Since 1979, Harvesters, Kansas City's only food bank, has served a clearinghouse for the collection and distribution of food and related household products. In response to the continuous need for contributions from the community, particularly this year due to the current economic conditions, Graham-Welch & Associates has incorporated Harvester's donation stations at 18 of their communities in the Kansas City area (please refer to the holiday map on their website to find these locations). At these donation stations, Graham-Welch homeowners, prospective buyers, and the public-at-large can contribute to Harvesters and enjoy their beautiful Holiday Homes Tour.
"A lot of work has gone into this project," said Brad Broockerd, director of marketing communications for Graham-Welch and Associates. "Our Harvesters and Holiday Homes Tour outreach includes four page advertisements in both the November and December issues of New Home Guide magazine, including the front cover of the latter, a ‘callout' in the December issue of New Home Journal magazine, door hangers distributed to all Graham-Welch residents' homes, directional signage, flyers and contribution Good Will Ambassador for Harvesters stickers. We have really put a great deal of effort into this campaign to explain to Kansas City residents how they can help support Harvesters."
To date, response to the campaign has been extremely positive. Graham-Welch and Associates' goal is to fill a large moving truck with food, and deliver it to Harvesters on December 22nd. They have also dedicated a large portion of their Website (www.GWAHomes.com/holiday) to support the Holiday Homes Tour that runs through December 30.
"We should all do our part to help area residents going through hard times...this is the true spirit of the Holidays," said Kent Welch, president of Graham-Welch & Associates.
