Family Traditions... few and far between they were in my large Irish Catholic family of nine. But...when I was little, I was the baby of the family for nearly 10 years. We never had a lot of money, and when the surprise second set of twins came along, I became the displaced baby of the family.
But one magical Christmas memory was a favorite tradition.
We would leave the baby Jesus out of our ceramic manger scene until Christmas morning. Then the youngest child would get to place Jesus in his manger first thing on Christmas morning. It was a sacred moment, and then we would rush off to open gifts.
When I was about 25, I wrote a song reflecting this memory. My gift to you is that I would like to share with you " THE MANGER SONG" This song is an original I recoreded in 1986 on my first of 3 albums.
Shared with permission from yours truly!
I hope you enjoy it.
