If you live in the Sandhills of North Carolina in or around Pinehurst, Southern Pines or Whispering Pines, you can celebrate New Years with your entire family and still get home long before midnite. In downtown Southern Pines on New Years Eve, there's a celebration called "First Eve". There is entertainment for all ages starting at 6 pm. At around 8, there's a pretend New Year's - after all, it's midnite somewhere!! I am looking forward to being able to celebrate with my whole family. It is great to live in a place where the town and residents support an event like this one.
