 Activerain:  Benefits VS. Risks

In a recent study due to be published next month by JAMA (Journal of American Medical Association) it was reported that the business/social media website ACTIVERAIN http://www.Activerain.com has reduced both Holiday Stress significantly (82 %) along with what is commonly known as SAD (Seasonal Affective Disorder).

Preliminary Studies indicate that Patients being treated in both studies reported a sharp decline in feelings of loneliness and isolation and a sharp increase in Business (77%) for those who blogged consistently.

The study found that depressed people were much more likely to get outside and Photograph pictures for their sister-site LOCALISM http://www.Localism.com.  A sharp decline in medication was reported by physicians across the Country by patients being forced to reconnect with Nature to get that "Perfect Shot."

Recently, one member of Activerain who refused to be identified simply said "I don't know WHY I feel better while on that site, I just DO.  I certainly have less income and business than last year but I'm just Happier."  Unlike other online websites, doctors believe it is the SOCIAL aspect of Activerain that has such a profound effect as well as a release of Endorphins while using the site.

In addition to the above findings it was also reported that the "POINT" system of Activerain was another reason patients felt "compelled" to log in each and every day.  Although unclear exactly WHY members loved their points so much an astounding number of those interviewed stated that's what kept them "coming back every day."

Research is still underway for the potential risks and side effects of this blogsite.  Many reported lack of sleep as their number one side effect from the overall addictive qualities associated with Activerain.  It was further reported that many other patients branched off to other areas of the web for further communication and social connection.

Use Activerain with caution if you experience ANY of the following:  drowsiness while operating machinery, inability to perform routine functions due to extra time spent on this site, carpal tunnel syndrome for trying to return every comment or sudden weight loss or gain (eating while typing or forgetting to eat completely).

The participants in the initial study will be followed up over a six month time frame.

*The preceeding blog is fictional.  (Although it DOES sound as if it has some merit : )!

Carole...I was giving you the benefit of a doubt the whole way through! I think this should just be circulated through the media until it's busted by snopes.com. I think that there is actually a lot of credibility in what you've  "reported" here! AR is certainly an energetic field, and a hub with a heart, for MANY right now... a well of inspiration...awailing wall...a vast library of knowledge and classroom comradery...and continuing EDUCATION with THE BEST mentors, leaders & instructors. It's always tRAINING somewhere!

Carole- great blog! Side effects include the willingness to get out of bed in the middle of the night to finish a blog/ answer comments/ etc.

The benefits far out weight the side effects though- meeting great friends and learning new things.

Carole - but when it goes away for a day or two many can be found just sitting and staring at a computer screen flashing

proxy error!

at them. They have a blank look on their faces, are unresponsibe to outside stimulus. Sometimes fanatically hitting refresh over and over again hoping for a different result, even a different error message with sometimes a tear rolling down from their eye.

It is the addictive nature of AR that is the most significant side effect for sure.  Here we are in NH without power and internet -- and I have been going to a friends' to make sure I get my fix of AR until my internet service is back up and running!  It looks like it may also have some long term effects as well.  Very clever and Very funny! Missy, I had fun writing this--although I had to not sound like me which was difficult.

Anne, That's easy, do more Localism posts :)  They certainly get you out even in some awful weather.

Charles, Merry Christmas to you.  I do thankfully get out and work and especially in difficult times are grateful for it.

Mara, No question many of us are addicted but love it here for ALL the reasons you mentioned!

Mel, There were a lot more side effects I could have added---blurry vision, general weakness and all those you mentioned :)

Linda, I hate to say I did blog in the middle of the night once--I won't do it again, I have no idea what comments I left!

Mike, Unresponsive and a bit panicky.  Those proxy errors are a pain to try and deal with.

Shirley, What happened to us?   We used to be )relatively) mornal before AR.

Margaret, I go blank for days.  I wrote this last night and just wanted to have some fun on here.

Connie, I hate to be the one to tell you but it IS catching...be careful out in the rain :)

Michelle, You're welcome--I needed a break myself to have some fun on here and it was.

Bill, My Google ranks and work have increased--and so have my friendships.  It just might be true.

Laura, There's no question we love this place and no question we get business...maybe they should do a study.

Richard, Thank you for stopping by and commenting--and thank you, MEL!

Sally,  I know it works....so do you.  If people keep at it they will not only have fun but get more clients.

Kathy, Thank you for YOUR post--I didn't know that about Facebook and I'm glad I never joined!  It was scary what you wrote and I believe it.

Bridget, I was trying to sound like those commecials on TV.  Where they tell you all the wonderful things before all the really bad side effects.

Christine, Thank you, I wanted to do something fun and not at all business related--and thankfully we're allowed.

Cameron, A definite side effect I should not have forgotten.  Thank goodness I love coffee too.

Lauren, Thank you, that's what I was trying for.  I'm so used to writing like ME I found it a challange.

Rebecca, When I miss a day I'm wondering what's going on in here--and trying to catch up is almost impossible.

Maria, It was fun to think of and write.  And rang true for many of us.  Thank you.

Diane, I needed to take a break and have fun--and I did :)

Johnny, I believe it as well.  People that are on here do make true friends and that's a wonderful feeling.

Cathy, Does it have to be rehab?  I was hoping to meet under some fun circumstances :)

Gary, I don't even know when you sleep--or if you do.  Your posts and comments are amazing and I could never keep up!

Colleen, Someone actually did mention that to me and I believe it.  We are definitely home more and it's such a fun place to be.

Joel, It's funny that Elizabeth and I were on the same page...and thinking very much alike.  I didn't think anyone would believe it for a minute.

Deb, You are too funny!  I'm almost done--I went today right after I posted and came home to a nice surprise.

Tim, I sure hope you feel better very soon!  Can you imagine if AR could cure that?  Doctors would be writing scripts for AR :)

Donna, Increased anxiety would be one of those side effects during the monster proxy errors. I keep trying to get on myself.

Bridget, Thank you for the comment.  If you're not compelled to sign on every day consider yourself in the minority of us!

Jennifer, Thank you for stopping by.  I think many of us needed to have some fun with all news lately.

Kate, It was time to have some fun.  You know what they say about too much business (actually, I don't know what they say about that but this was my break).

Audrey, Funny that some of the comments did say it helps them through the winter.  And I'm sometimes out there freezing just to get a picture--maybe it is true :)

Erby, I do happen to think this site is wonderful...you can't get SAD with so many terrific friends.

Elizabeth, I was trying to sound like a reporter--or a commercial I'm not sure which.  It was fun :)

Roland, Sorry I had to pull the plug--I needed a break from work to just have fun.

Sonia, I think it is too.  We can come here and write whatever we're feeling--or use it for business.  I love that they allow us to be US.

Danielle, That is so cute.  But I bet it does have some elements of truth.

Elizabeth, I thought the same thing--we are on the same wavelength.  But isn't that what happens, your energy gets connected when you have a friend.  And YOU are certainly a friend!  GBU too.
