President's Service Award

During the Awards Ceremony of the Crystal Coast Chapter of Women's Council of REALTORS® our 2008 President, Marian, announced a new award for service. To my surprise she started describing the contributions of the Education Committee that I chaired.

It is both humbling and rewarding to be recognized for service. Thank you Marian for choosing me for the award. I am grateful and will proudly display my plaque.

However it is never one person who is responsible for such contributions and this case is no exception. When an award like this is unexpected you are unprepared for what to say. I want to take a minute to thank those who served on the Education Committee for their contributions:

     Larry Federer
     Marcia Holcomb
     Angie O’Bey
     Llew Ramsey
     Brenda Roney
     Joanna Scales
     Paula Stadiem
     Mary Woodard

Also a big thank you to each of you who took classes with us this year. In these difficult times additional education is something easy to cut from the budget. We are grateful that many of you chose to invest in yourselves even during slow times. We know there are many other educational offerings out there and we ask you to continue to look to our class schedule first when making your education decision and support the Carteret County Association of REALTORS® and the Crystal Coast Chapter of Women's Council of REALTORS®.

2009 President, Amy Hahn also presented two awards:

REALTOR® of the Year - went to Brenda Ballard

Congratulations! I have belonged to WCR for many years. San Francisco is my primary chapter. We have had some great ladies as National presidents and State presidents. Maxine Jennings is from my Realtor Association. Carol Luckenbach abd Betty Taisch were state Preidents.

Jean, Thank you. Maxine must be a great leader and inspiring. It makes a difference when a chapter has strong state and national leadership. Brenda Ballard the 2000 National President is in our chapter and she passed the baton to Maxine in 2001.
