PAIA ELEMENTARY SCHOOL 

Paia town, on Maui's north shore, is an old fashioned town with an old fashioned elementary school that has been operating for 98 years.  Here's a nice picture of it with a rainbow overhead.

They are in the process of replacing the school cafeteria which burned down in 2005.  Due to some unforeseen setbacks including zoning, things are happening slowly.

Hi Georgina, I love the rainbow over the school and this is also a nice hyper-local post featuring this particularly elementary! I do think it's  a bit odd that a school would have zoning issues but hope it all turns out well!

Russell - yes you would think they would have the zoning figured by now, but when they went to pull permits for the improvements they found out the zoning was inappropriate....Agriculture.  hahahaha - welcome to Maui County!  I finally found the news story and will add the link.  It's quite amusing really.
