Smith Mountain Lake, Free Boat Docking Clinics April 27-29

Docking is always a problem for both new and experienced boaters.  The wind, current, and other factors impact a successful docking experience. The Smith Mountain Lake Water Safety Council will offer a FREE boat docking clinic/demonstration in conjunction with this year's Southwest Virginia Boat Dealers' In-Water Boat Show.  The docking clinic and boat show will be held at the Bridgewater Plaza docks April 27-29, 2007 (Route 122 at the Franklin and Bedford County Boarder (Hales Ford Bridge).  The Van Team, award winning realtors at Smith Mt Lake , of Long & Foster Realtors at the Lake, will be sponsoring docking handouts and providing FREE hotdogs.  The docking demonstration will occur along the main pier at the entrance to the show on Saturday at 12, 2 and 3:30 p.m., and on Sunday at 1 and 3:00 p.m.  This is an opportunity for boaters to learn or review the techniques that facilitate safe, anxiety-free maneuvering of watercraft in docking situations.  If you have questions, e-mail the SML Water Safety Council c/o gwhale02@yahoo.com.
