Anyone else udate to the newest version of WordPress, 2.7, yet?

I just updated one of my "test" sites.  My goodness, the Dashboard sure looks different.  The screen shots in every step-by-step post I ever wrote are sure obsolete now, that's for sure.  :-)

The WordPress codex people say "this may be the last time you ever have to manually upgrade WordPress again."  ( http://wordpress.org/development/2008/12/coltrane/ )  And that sure sounds sweet to me.

If anyone wants to see this new interface live, let me know, I'll give you an author login and password to the test site (Cluttered Shelf)  and you can poke around (at least at the author level.  I'm not giving out no admin logins, so don't even ask.  :-)  )

I watched on Twitter all weekend and people were upgrading without any problems. I emailed Dakno if I could do it myself and they wanted to do it to make sure all the pluggins work. I'd love to play around with it.

We haven't notice a lot of difference just the change in the dashboard.

@Terry, Exactly.

@Missy.  I have the upgrade thing down to a routine.  FTP in.  In the right side, ISP host panel, drill down until you can see the folders named wp-includes, wp-admin and wp-content.

Delete wp-includes and wp-admin.

Upload the new wp-includes and wp-admin folders.

Contrary to WP instructions, I never touch wp-content.  So far, everything runs fine.

Upload all the root/core files (except index.php, since I don't want to take the extra time to to re-do these steps http://www.queenofkludge.com/power-your-domain-with-wordpress/  (Gawk, look how old those screen shots are!!)

Only three more blogs to go, but I think I am D O N E  for today.

Log-in, click button to update databaseee; done.

Caution: CAT BLOG AHEAD

Including random thoughts on life, art, business, stuff, and occasionally Real Estate.

What is a CAT BLOG?

According to Seth Godin: "Cat blogs are for, by, and about the person blogging. A cat blog is about your cat and your dating travails and your boss and whatever else you feel like sharing in your public diary."

Well, I am the boss, my dating years are behind me, but I do love my cats.

Enjoy!
