Spending time Twittering this morning, I came across a blog post from @mashableMashable (self-proclaimed - "All That's New On the Web") takes a very broad-brush approach to reporting exactly that - all that's new on the web.

That said, some of the general articles they publish have strong implications and advice for those of us in the real estate business.  Check out this article - "Why brands ABSOLUTELY DO Belong on Twitter."  The article focuses on larger brands like Starbucks and Coca-Cola, but there are certainly some applications for individual agents and brokers when it comes to the value of using Twitter and other real-time social media communication platforms.

Thanks for the info. I haven't used twitter as I'm involved with AR, Facebook, and LinkedIn.

Hi Darrell & Sandy - If you're on LinkedIn, Facebook, and AR, Twitter is perfect way to round out your communication and connections with people in your network, and to build new contacts.  I'd really recommend going to Twitter.com to start - takes about 5 seconds, then you can start by following me at @scottsambucci (found at: http://twitter.com/scottsambucci).

Think of it as a mass conversation of people that you choose to listen to, and who choose to listen to you. Some other good Twitterers to follow are @ResPres and @kevinboer.  "Follow" some of the people they are following and you'll get the hang of it pretty quickly.

Hi Scott,

Thanks for the post.  I agree - Twitter is a great place to help build your brand.  I'll be following you as well.
