A year in my ActiveRain life

I joined ActiveRain on the 8th January 2008, a year has passed.

So what's gone on in the past year.

On 24th May, I posted my 100th blog, entitled strangely "My 100th ActiveRain Blog - The Numbers - What do they mean?". So I thought for my 1 year anniversary I would carry this thought on.

I then decided to review my blogs to see how and if they had changed, along the way I gathered the statistics below. I think that even after a 164 posts, that my blog is still true to it's blog description "

Number of Blogs: 100 now 164

Number of times My Profile viewed:1038 now viewed 3269 times

Number of Subscriptions to My Blog: 4 now up to 18

Highest Number of Comments: 14 for My 100th ActiveRain Blog - The Numbers - What do they mean?

Ratio of Views to Comments: 98.6 to 1 has dropped to 130.6 to 1

Number of Comments I've Left: 114 now 267

Number of Comments I've Received: 159 now 316

Average Views per Blog: 140.4 now up to 248.5

Average Clicks per Blog: 77.3 now up to 106.2

Average Number of Comments per Blog: 1.424 now up to 1.902

My favorite Blog Post: First day back at school

Well, I am still wondering what I will be saying at my 200th post. We will have to wait and see!

Alan - Congratulations! It looks like you have had a very successful year on Active Rain. It's interesting to look at the stats as the year ends (begins!) - just like we do with our MLS stats.

Alan: Congratulations on your first full year on Active Rain. I am sure you have benefited from your experience. After looking at your "numbers"... may I make one suggestion ? You could really, really boost the number of comments others make on your blog post... if you boosted the number of comments you make on theirs.

There is something we honor... called reciprocity... here on Active Rain. When I have written a post, and see folks commenting on it, I click on their name, go to their blog, read a post of theirs, and then comment on it. If I like what I read enough, I might even subscribe to their blog, and maybe even make them an Associate.

By doing all of this, you open yourself up to many, many others getting to know you. It is a great and EASY way to expand your sphere here on Active Rain. Hope this is of some help. Take care... and have a Great New Year !
