In our area, the cycle of peak and off season was like clock work. January the listing appointments came, early Spring you were showing homes at least every other day so folks could close in the Summer and start off the kids in a new school from day one. Early Autumn we would be the usual busy and from Thanksgiving on we were dead till the 1st. Hah! Throw that calender out the window! This year Spring and Autumn traded places, and that usual comatose time after Thanksgiving? Shoot, busier now than late Spring. Adapt and survive? I do not have a problem with that, but, throw past years out the window. Truth is I do not have a clue what the new cycle will be, matter of fact, forget trying to figure that out and just roll with it. Typically our internet leads drop of 50% in November, well the word typical is out the window too. We are only off by about 25%, and that is GOOD news. Fact is, you cannot say I'm gearing up for the busy time, you might be watching it slip by as you speak. Forget about figuring it out and the prognosticators that predict cycles. Just roll with it! Now, when do I take a vacation???? Hmmm.

Indeed, things have changed, haven't they?
Up here in the Cool Blue North, we're predicting a more vibrant first quarter than last year. Listing opportunities abound here now, during the Fourth Quarter, but showings have been few and far between, offers as well - and they are LOW, when they do come in!
Let's all work for a busy, and successful, 2009!
Happy Holidays!
