You know the song... so no need for a reprise here. But I will reference Rudolph's feeling of being left out in the cold, so to speak, when the other Reindeer didn't include them in the fun. However, here - I'm thinking more of the brand new blogger... who may very well read some of our more technical posts and feel a little bit like an outsider - not really knowing the lingo all that well.

As bloggers - those of us who have been at this for even a few months have most likely picked up on much of the terminology used in the blogosphere.
I'm talking mainly of the acronyms we throw around but sometimes fail to define. In the Pay it Forward spirit of what many of us are all about, perhaps we should practice a little more kindness and throw in a parenthetical definition or full "term" reference now and again.
Think back to your more technical posts - do you often used acronyms and assume a bit too much prior knowledge among your readership? Do those new to blogging and social media know what you are talking about?
How does it make you feel when you encounter a new acronym or initialism but aren't provided with a full spelling of the term or phrase? I'm sure the first time you encountered "SERP," you would have appreciated a (Search Engine Results Page) next to it!
Since I use acronyms and/or initial-isms here on my ARB (Active Rain Blog), I’d love to hear what you have to say.
GP...(Great Point) Kevin, lol Laughing at your reindeer picture...and it wasn't just a chuckle, as I was a newby once....Hugs and Merry Christmas...Shawn
