I know as a woman I am supposed to like to go shopping. But I don't! If I had my way, they would bring a selection of whatever I want to my house where I could try things on and decide what I want. The entire shopping experience is something I just don't enjoy!!! I read about people like Pat Kennedy who love to shop (especially for those shoes) and I just don't get it.
On-line shopping is SO MUCH EASIER. The only problem is the carbon footprint!!!! So I have stopped that. I guess I am going to have to bite the bullet and get to the store. I really need a new pair of jeans - actually I have needed them for about 6 months!!! That should tell you something about my aversion to the stores. You can never find what you want and that means searching in store after store.
When I lived in Germany I am afraid I drove my kids' father a little crazy. I always KNOW what I want, but I can't find EXACTLY the right thing. We drove around from city to city for MONTHS until I found just the right coat (it had to be EXACTLY like the coat in Dr Zhavigo that Laura wore).
Then there was the new watch (my watch is 28 years old - I just can't imagine going through that again) - I knew just what I wanted - we went to almost every jeweler in Munich until I found it!!!
The same with the sofa set - we found that on the border to the former East Germany in a small town that manufactured oak framed sofas....really massive ones! Gee, I miss that set - I left it behind when I moved to the States!!!
So imagine what Christmas does to me!!!!! Sascha is easy - I have to have his gift delivered - he lives in DC - that means finding something really neat and having it delivered to the concerige at his apartment building. What is great about where he lives is that even if it is something that has to be refrigerated (like the cheeses I once had flown in from California as a surprise) it is not a problem. The advantages of having a concerige!!!
And shopping for the grandbaby is easy - TARGET !!!!!! The best place for baby clothing - no sense in going elsewhere, they grow so fast!!!
Corinna.....now there is the difficult one! This year I asked for a list of things she wanted to make my life easier - but, alas, I will have to go out, into stores and search. A little on-line searching in advance should at least narrow that down a bit.
So here is one woman that is NOT a fan of shopping! Pat Kennedy, Anne Hensel and all the rest of you that love to shop, sorry, I just don't get it!!!!
