Hi All,

I just looked over my posts from the previous few days and realized that although I gave a preliminary report of the goings on for week two I never fully wrapped up the week.  Now, if I don't close out week two properly, how can I ever get on to week three?

So... To complete the week, here's what went on.  I went out into my fair city of Claremont playing a combination of Brenda Starr, Lois Lane and Diane Arbus.  I have not been without my camera for the last two weeks.  I have been compiling photos for my site.  I also joined flickr.com and created my very own flickr badge. <!-- Start of Flickr Badge -->

Drew's skill and knowledge have been an invaluable aid.  I have learned so much already.  With every communication, we do a lot of IM'ing, he sends me off to see, read, find, learn, and do something new.  Drew helps mostly on the technical side, although I do appreciate his insights and opinions where my postings are concerned.

I don't consult him on topics prior to posting them.  He has made it pretty clear that the content is definitely my area.  I do however listen avidly to not only his advice, but that of my reader's as well.  My understanding of the entire blogging process is that although, ultimately it is about the words, it is supposed to be a conversation not a lecture and you need to listen to not only what is said, but to what isn't.

For example, I have definitely noted that my shorter posts do receive a higher view rate, so... I am making an effort to be more concise.  That doesn't mean that I am not being true to my "voice" but it does mean that I understand that sometimes a whisper is a good as a scream.

I put in some serious time (we are talking literally hours here) researching, reviewing, selecting and adding links to my site for the Claremont Resources tab.  I don't just put random links on my site.  If something is there, it is because I read, evaluated and decided it should be there.

I have also been learning how to photograph properties for virtual tour use.  I will be putting together my first tours all by myself in the next few days.  I also held an open house for another agent in my office.  I posted the information on Localism.  And, I have been keeping myself involved here on Active Rain in addition to working on my own site Route66Living.com.

I also went into my community and attending my very first Active Claremont meeting last week.  Active Claremont is actually a group for community activism and volunteering.  Both very worthwhile and both activities close to my heart.

In addition, I spent some time working on some new "bells and whistles" that I hope to add to the site very soon.  So, I hope that fleshes out week two's activities better for you all.

Oh, and if you haven't voted for week one or week two yet, please do so, for whomever you prefer.  I really just want to see that the entire Active Rain community expresses itself.  I do find it hard to believe that with 4110 views of the Project Blogger announcement post barely 60 members would have voted thus far.

Take care, help lots of people and have a wonderful day!

Hi Tisza - I love it...Brenda Starr, Lois Lane and Diane Arbus!  Two comic characters and Photographic Artist with a very personal POV!   Tisza, your POV is very unique and always piques my interest!

BTW - I did cast my vote for week one, and I am still sifting through all the posts for week two before entering the voting  booth.

Tisza, you know if you mention "photography" here on Active Rain, one of us will twist your arm into joining our Photography Groups ... Here ... and here.....

Yes, I know links in a comment are considered tacky, but I'm not promoting myself, and its much easier to go straight to the group with a link rather than having to search ..... :-)

Tisza - what I find great about this competition is the different approach from the coaches.  Drew is obviously very techie (and that usually goes over my head---talk about information overload).  Jeff is not only gadget man, but he has incredible ideas from the consumer perspective.  Paul is a well-rounded techie but blogging machine.....I could go on and on.....but I am personally learning from everyone.

Hi All,

Cheryl - There are Photography Groups?  Duh, now that I think about it... OF Course there are photography groups :-)  That is the one down side for me about still being pretty knew here.  I got into the competition and all that it involved before I had a chance to lurk and poke around much.  I really need to spend some concentrated time checking out all the groups that Active Rain has to offer.  You know, becoming a well-rounded community member here can easily become a full-time job!  Thank you for the links, I don't think they are tacky.  Right now especially, I appreciate anything that helps get me to the heart of things faster.

Ines - Some of the tech stuff goes gleefully sailing above my noggin as well.  I am personally quite the gadg-a-holic so I love playing with technology and toys, but that doesn't mean that I actually take the time to understand all of them.  I also agree that it is wonderful to have all the different types and schools of thought available 24hrs a day/ 7 days a week to learn from.  I also spend a good deal of time reading Jeff's, ARDELL's, The Tomato's, Paul's and everyone elses posts.  And I am glad to have them.

I try to keep everyone abreast of what Drew and I are up to so that transparancy for the process can be maintained.  But, I am sure I don't always succeed.  I keep remembering what Dustin Luther said during that fateful seminar way back on March 31 - "If you don't tell the world what you know, how are they going to know that you know it?"  "Blogging is an email to the world." so I try to tell everything via the blogs.  Much the same way you have been doing.

Take care, help lots of people and have a wonderful day!

I've noticed that some things just don't work right on AR.  Very interesting local post. Thanks for contacting Drew.

Happy Arbor Day Friday.

Hi Tisza,

Good post, as always! Gosh I feel like I know you. I guess this is how our potential clients feel about us, huh?

Every coach-mentor team is going along at a different pace and focus. I'm learning tons from you and everyone else.

Keep up the fantastic work.

If I have ANYONE for Claremont, ever, I'm sending 'em to you....

Tisza,

You need to test your blog on real clients.

Most of my clients came from my LONGEST posts.  Remember that people who are REALLY READY to buy and sell real estate are reading everything they can get their hands on and SHORT is not good for the people you really want to reach.

It's not about volume of readers when it comes to garnering clients from blogging.  That's why stats can be ego interesting but irrelevant at the same time.  I only value closed transactions, not leads, not readers, closed transactions.  And most of them came from very long posts that they read five times over before contacting me.
